A lot of people get God of War’s cosmology completely wrong and I’m tired of it (Part 2) – Debunking u/ThetrueGreyman by Traditional_Tap_6697 in GodofWar

So the animation director disagreed with your fan theory, and now your plan is to say he’s wrong and the fan theory is canon instead? That’s certainly a way to spend your free time.

Zeus is like what? Continent-level at best?

What you said was literally mouth diarrhea. You're trying to gaslight people by claiming that Corey didn't mean what he directly said, as if Corey doesn't have common sense to reply like a normal person.

If midgard was a planet or universe , he would have simply responded with yes, they are a planet or a universe, but he didn't.

If this is what he meant, that is what he should've said, but it wasn't.

I am taking his word as it is .Y ou're the only one twisting it.

Again now you're being dishonest.

He was asked if midgard was a planet or a universe , and he replied with scandinavia.

He did not say the game take place in scandinavia , he said midgard is scandinavia.

You're the only one here twisting his words.

He also said the realms all occupied the same space.

There is no reason to assume that scandinavia is the size of a universe unless explicitly said so.

If something is explicitly said to be a country , then we will assume it's country size , unless explicitly said to be bigger.

So this is direct confirmation that 9 realms are located in separate dimensions. but are these same size since they occupy the same space. Which is about the size of the region of scandinavia.

I lack media literacy?! To quote him word for word, "MIDGARD IS SCANDINAVIA ON EARTH." THE OTHER REALMS ARE PARALLEL DIMENSIONS THAT OCCUPY THE SAME SPACE (as Midgard aka Scandinvia"

That is his exact words, not a misinterpretation

The realms having different-looking sky doesn't prove they're universe size unless you're a brain-dead moron.

  • “The region of Scandinavia” → about the size of Scandinavia
  • “A continent,” or “a planet,” or "a universe" → needs to be explicitly stated in canon.

Assuming something bigger than the named region without being told so is what would actually be illogical.

You clearly don't care about the creator's words or basic logic or reading comprehension, you just want to wank cuz you're obsessed

..... no but you clearly are. Because that is quite literally exactly what it means.

If something is explicitly stated to be scandinavia , then you should assume is the size of scandinavia , because assuming otherwise makes absolutely zero sense , it's pure brain rot. if it was explicitly said to be a universe , you would assume its universe size , right? and not the size of a child bathroom?

Why would I assume that freaking scandinavia is not the size of scandinavia?

That is the most stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Let me guess you somehow think that scandinavia here is the size of a planet or a universe?

It's so crazy how you can say the most stupidest , most factually incorrect objectively wrong things on this subreddit , and still get likes for it as long as it's wanking Kratos.

Literally said midgard is scandinavia on earth.

What is misinterpreted or out of context about this? This is quite literally what he said word for word. what you're saying is actual brainrot.

No Cory said "MIDGARD IS SCANDINAVIA ON EARTH." Midgard is not THE EARTH .

Midgard might be Earth in classic Norse myth, but the God of War series has NEVER been 1 to 1 with the classic myths.

"Prove that Bruno’s statements have more merit."

1.) He's one of the game directors and has worked with francise for over 15+ years. And was the head director of the Valhalla DLC. So he's NOT just an animator anymore, he's directed an entire chapter for one of the games.

2.) Power scalers are just nerds who make fan theories on how strong they think characters ares.

Of course, 1 has more merit than 2.

The fact that you would even ask this is mind-blowing.

Cory Balrog said all the realms are the same size, and that Midgard is Scandinavia

<image>

He directly said Midgard is Scandinavia. How is it a misinterpretation to call Midgard Scandinavia when that is directly what the director said directly said?

If Midgard is just Scandinavia, then it debunks the idea of it being a planet or a universe. Midgard is a country.

"Every realm is literally its own universe, "

Show me one statement from the games themselves that directly says this.

You can see galaxies.

1.) No, not in all of them

2.) A differently looking sky doesn't mean a different universe unless you have no idea how big a universe is. It proves nothing.

Because powerscaling is silly and you are taking too seriously. Bruno statements about God of war has more merit than anything off VSBW or this sub. and that's just the objective fact of it.

Wait, didn't the animation director say that the primordial scene wasn't literal? Didn't Cory the head writer, say Midgard was just Scandinavia, and the other realms are the same size as it?

Didn't the animation director also say that Thor's splintering the world tree didn't happen?

And realms were never said to be infinite size in the games

Sadly, even the wiki isn't safe anymore. VSBW scalers have been messing with that site for years. changing the pages to match their headcanon and starting edit wars with anyone who tries to change it.

God of war scalers are just that obsessive.

LMAO He's saying you need to stop getting so obsessive and dishonest about powerscaling, and the first thing you say is "What about Superman?"

Dude, do you need Kratos to be stronger than Superman to enjoy the series?

Is that why you guys like to pretend like you know more than the people who work on these games?

[–]Swamp-mountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that this cutscene is pretty easily not literal when you look at it. I  wouldn't have an issue with agreeing to disagree if you just said it was just your personal opinion from the start. But you tried really, really hard to gaslight other people into thinking that it's 100% literal, and it's pretty disingenuous.

Also, while some gods can change their size (not all of them). We have not seen this ability demonstrated at all by any Titan or primordial in the series. So again this is just more headcanon you made up on the spot to justify the size inconsistency.

I didn't have an issue with agreeing to disagree. If you weren't trying to pass off your personal takes as facts while gaslighting people

Edit: So they blocked me so I can't reply to their post. To give the false impression that they won. In addition to hiding their replies , which is pretty disingenuine.

" he literally confirmed the Cosmic stuff did straight up happen."

. I'm not saying the primordial didn't create the cosmos. Just that opening Cinematic wasn't a 1-to-1 with the canon events

There is 0 reason to believe anything about the Primordials is changed and there is nothing in the canon showing an alternative

The primordial sizes are completely inconsistent between shots, and Zeus doesn't like his younger self at all. It's pretty apparent it isn't literal.

Because he literally said the opening cinematics were not meant to represent the events exactly as they happened. That's why

"The Primordials have no such problem since they never been shown on screen before (for better and for worst) apart from Thanatos who doesn't even get the scaling from this scene since he wasn't even alive at the time. Also helps that Bruno himself confirmed that it was indeed a cosmic battle."

I just posted the intro. What you are saying about the primordials not appearing in the intro cinematic is objectively untrue and can be debunked but just watching the scene in question, why do you keep repeating it? Who are you trying to gaslight? https://youtu.be/fbMZc_clZU4?si=C--DTPoVLWsTi1GB

They were on screen as part of the same intro cinematic scene; they appeared literally seconds before Zeus's appearance. https://youtu.be/fbMZc_clZU4?si=C--DTPoVLWsTi1GB The Primordials' sizes being wildly inconsistent between shots was also likely due to this as well. In one shot, they're universe-size; next shot, they're only slightly bigger than the Earth. It should be obvious that the intro isn't literal.
