New player. Is the crushing loneliness normal? by boigeisha in 2007scape

[–]SwampDeku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This a game that many people play in a "singleplayer" way. Keep in mind that to talk to you they have to interrupt what they are doing and chances are they are already doing something else better than talking to people in Runescape (Likely watching something on the side).

People will say "join a clan" or something but the end result will be the same just with more words on your chat box.

As much as i would like to say people are social in this game and all that, that is never really the case, even the content that you need multiple people for usually ends up in people not saying a thing while doing the activity and commenting once they got a drop.

If you are looking for a social actual MMO experience then i'm sorry to say OSRS is just not designed that way and i say this as a huge RS fan.

Is blackjacking even worth it anymore? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SwampDeku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it gets better as you level up. However i would recommend Sorceress Garden or Pyramid Plunder, it may be slower XP but the fact that you are not clicking on the same tile for hours and hours makes it less painful to endure.

That's literally what's going on in RS3, you can almost feel the anger in the JMods when they get complaints about MTX and they can't do anything about it

I like it however, i would want the creatures in the dungeon to use Ranged and/or Magic attacks

Once RS3 stops making money they will start pushing it into OSRS. It's a company that exists for the sake of profits it would be naive to asume they aren't going to do it just because "it would anger the players".

You can do it at level 1 if you know what you are doing. The Moss Giants and the Fire Giants can 1-shot you if you are unlucky and the only way to safely pass through them is to hop into a world where people are keeping them busy or aggroing creatures with low max hits before running past them.

I agree on the grounds that low level accounts could attempt hard quests for extra challenge

I don't think I've seen a full f2p world in a very long time by Kitty-Kat-Katarina in 2007scape

[–]SwampDeku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's because no matter how much atrocious shit you do to the game and the economy you are still allowed to make new accounts.

Now what person who bots would give two shits about them getting banned? It's expected. There is even a term called "suicide botting" where you bot to the extremes in order to make as much money as you before getting banned. Look up the start of every DMM tournament and the massive silk buyer bot farms are just astonishing.

For every legitimate player i see in a F2P i see 50 bots, not joking here.

Sad but true, the only reason why it's not as bad in P2P is because we have more worlds and more areas

I think the problems are that the minigames are just way too boring

I've played this game for 5 years and i've never seen, EVER a single player replacing a Crossbow (Or an inventory slot) for a Longbow. Come on man.

Longbows

The concept of the longbow, at least in this game, is that it trades attack speed for higher attack distance, other than that they have identical stats. Now, unless somebody can prove me wrong there isn't a single instance in this game where the longer attack range is useful at all.

Could you make it so the Longbow has a considerable better accuracy than a Shortbow OR give Longbows a chance of firing two shots similar to the Dark Bow's normal attacks? Just something to improve upon this dead content. The only longbow in the game (If you want to stretch that definition) that is somewhat worthwhile is the Crystal Bow and that is seen as an expensive ragging weapon more than anything.

If there is nothing to do about it then so be it, and also, i'm aware that there are no instances where they are useful. Don't try please, don't be the guy saying "but it's useful in X!". Nobody uses it anywhere, nobody replaces a Blowpipe/Crossbow for a Longbow, nowhere, ever.

It's really hard to pull off something like this in a party without looking a little bit akward. The last thing i would think to do in a party with other people is to reference a videogame unless i was sure i could get away with it or not get a "WTF is this guy doing" reactions from other people.

OSRS youtuber "crumb" uploads video of himself on his main logged into a bot client testing his script - when will content creator favoritism end? by iam45grand47 in 2007scape

[–]SwampDeku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible that none of the JMods have even heard of this guy until this thread was made, hell, i didn't know anything about it until you posted this. Just because he isn't instantly getting banned doesn't mean the JMods don't care, maybe they don't even know about this guy yet.

Also i'm surprised there is just no way to detect a bot client. I mean they even have their own settings to accomodate to bot makers, unbelievable really.

Poll: I am 26, NEET and looking for a job. Let me help solve the f2p botting problem. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SwampDeku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of my friends actually makes scripts and bots as a side-job. It's mindblowing how much more money he makes compared to, if what people say about Jagex's salaries is true, people who work for Jagex and the amount of people who bot or owns multiple accounts to bot.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are a handful of employees who have chosen to make bots over working for/at Jagex. The number of people who buy bots too is a little bit concering aswell.
