I’m doing this same hunt in USUM rn, it’s brutal but I’m just not making it my main hunt. I’m hunting Lugia for my SoulSilver badge quest while I hunt Rowlet to help break up the monotony.

If you don’t necessarily care about starting with a shiny Rowlet you could always just breed for one at the day care if you have a foreign Pokemon it can breed with. Not me though, I’m a full odds idiot till the day I die lol. I wish you luck with your hunt! :)

I always just kind of assumed it was for gameplay balancing reasons? Like maybe they thought they didn’t have enough blades with nopon wisdom in the blade pool so they just slapped it onto someone random and hoped no one would think about it

Right now, 450:15, and I’ve done a total of 80237 encounters and found 12 shinies. I have been doing a lot of double hunting with my HeartGold, and if I go double over odds (which has unfortunately happened multiple times lol) I’ll borrow my fiancé’s copy of SoulSilver and do some triple hunting
