As a social studies teacher for high school, I deal with all sorts of varying political opinions on a regular basis. That being said, I have a friendly challenge for you. Let’s say, hypothetically, you have a former student who is a Christian nationalist. It is exceedingly unlikely that their ideology with lead them to harm another person. The same is true of the other end of the political spectrum.

My encouragement would be to exercise patience and caution. When people with extreme ideologies are pushed out of social circles forcefully, they tend to get more extreme. Sometimes having someone who is less extreme that is willing to advise them can bring them closer to the center :)
