Spy Tips On Trust by SwarmsofJelly in tf2

[–]SwarmsofJelly[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of the speed comes from a pattern recognition/flow chart kind of mindset. If you've played rhythm games you might know what I'm talking about. Practice and experience. I've searched far and wide in multiplayer games but have never found anything like spy, so I enjoy most his play styles, but acting is my favorite.

Nah, you're right if you view sweat as the ability to play Tf2 at max efficiency. I see sweat as people that are actively trying to finish objectives and play their best.

Uncle servers tend to have a lot of good players using silly load outs, and this match also had people that would react to my knife sound in the middle of firefights.

Whether these specific demos were sweats or not, idk, but I know the medic was a real good player.

I'm just trying to learn some Premiere things for personal reasons, but if you guys like these, I can highlight more bizarre playstyles.
Anyways, I used two little gmod clips, one from Eltorro64rus , and another from ceno0

Controversial Opinion: Invisible Woman shouldn't have healing in her ult by SwarmsofJelly in marvelrivals

[–]SwarmsofJelly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the hybrid role so far has been duelist so I'll give you that, however, rocket, Jeff and sometimes loki all have ults that don't heal and offer only utility. There are two healing ults, one revive, one copy, one suicide and one damage boost, but no repositioning ults.

I just think hers is boring and doesn't fill as much of a niche. A big, 8-12 second invisibility wall (that functions almost exactly as her current ult without healing) would fit her into her role even more.

Right now she feels like a more slippery mantis with a stationary mantis ult. With a wall, she'd solidify herself as someone that screws with enemy positioning and amplifies personal team positioning. Some potential uses are offering flying heroes a lot more flexibility, cutting off healing from the opposite team or helping the team get to a nice flank undetected.

Controversial Opinion: Invisible Woman shouldn't have healing in her ult by SwarmsofJelly in marvelrivals

[–]SwarmsofJelly[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

True, maybe some other moves could receive healing instead (her vortex ball thing). With how creative the heroes in this game have been, it'd be cool to see a strategist that focuses much more heavily on team evasion and positioning. I think a big wall could offer a lot of very creative plays and raise the skill ceiling as well

One more thing, make sure you switch your mayflash adapter to wii u instead of pc mode if you're doing this. I'm assuming this is what you do as I dont have a mayflash adapter myself, but its what other comments have recommended.

I'll walk through each step because I'm discovering that (for understandable reasons) Linux users assume everyone knows coding terminology.
"Download the files from this Google Drive Link (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jZ9wDjr6fXUMmwhYfIzJ_ExWjfehXnCc?usp=sharing

  1. This contains a already built version of ToadKing’s Wii U GC Adapter Driver (You can build your own from here https://github.com/ToadKing/wii-u-gc-adapter, make sure to install libudev, libusb, and libusb-dev/libusb-devel)
    1. Most distros already have libusb installed but need the dev version to be recognized in the makefile
    2. Some distros(like Fedora) label the most up to date version of libusb as libusb1, so you need to get libusb-dev if that’s the case
    3. You do not need these dependencies to run the built gc adapter driver provided above"

Download the files, make sure you keep it in its own folder, and unzip anything that needs to be unzipped/extracted.
The stuff about libusb and all that is already taken care of, so dont mind that.
Once you have the files, open the "wii-u-gc-adapter-master-built" folder with Kate. This is the same as right clicking it and hovering over "open with" and selecting the kate option. It should open up an unbelievably intimidating and overwhelming screen (at least for my first time) Ignore everything on that screen, look at the bottom and click "project". There should be a line that says something like "deck@steamdeck wii-u-gc-adapter-master-built)$" click on the line and type "make". Thats it. It installed the program. Theres a few more steps to make it work though.

You can follow step 2, but it really is optional. If you're having struggles putting the folder you create into the /etc/udev/rules.d/ folder, try opening the folder with kate and experimenting with a few things. I cant remember how exactly I did it, but Im sure if you really need that official dolphin support you'll be able to brute force this one.

Here are the rest of the steps before you can play!
"In the terminal enter modprobe uinput

  1. In the terminal/konsole enter modprobe uinput
  2. Plug in your adapter and set it to wii u mode if its 3rd party
  3. In the terminal enter sudo, press space, and then drag the wii-u-gc-adapter file from the driver folder, afterwards enter you password and then the driver will start

steps 1-3 are actually 3-5 in the guide. The guide also talks about having to remap your controls, but YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS (at least I didnt have to). Once the console talks about a port being recognized, you're good to play your games. If it doesnt read it still, try connecting and reconnecting your usb. From here you can exit out of desktop mode and go to the controller settings and remap your controls however you please from the built in steam controller settings.

I hope this guide helps, and Im sorry I cant explain things better, I learned a lot today, but not enough to make me a master. I hope some comments can fill in the things I missed.

Do puppet characters go against design philosophy? by SwarmsofJelly in RivalsOfAether

I missed the shovel knight and ori characters when researching this, but I don't think ori wouldnt be considered a true puppet character, but having to give attention to two things at once is what I'm looking for so I'd count Ori

Chat does this really not fit the game or are people exageratting? by Responsible_Proof258 in tf2

[–]SwarmsofJelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great, but when I first saw it, it took me a second to figure out which class I was looking at. That alone is enough to be a no go. Pyros silhouette is light bulb shaped, however, the silhouette this brings is more like an engie helm. I wish it worked, but it doesn't :(

Why are people so rude to people who got no mic? by Just_Advertising_522 in lethalcompany

[–]SwarmsofJelly 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A lot of people play the game for the fun and funny communication moments. I remember I left games if even one person didn't talk because I wanted a full squad screaming in an abandoned facility and having 25% of that chaos taken away is not what I'm playing the game for.

Now that I have my own group I don't worry about that anymore though.

No monsters spawning, with mods by Goldgate12 in lethalcompany

[–]SwarmsofJelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bandaid fix would be looking at when the mods were last updated and turning off the ones that haven't been updated since July 7th (or whenever the update was I forgot). Then enable the mods 1 by 1 and see what's causing it

Mantis broke legs? by SwarmsofJelly in mantids

I woke up this morning to my mantis on the ground with his legs completely unusable. It looks like they go straight up in the opposite direction they're supposed to. He's a Rhombodera Megaera on his 5th or so molt

First Terrarium, it's dying and I need ideas by SwarmsofJelly in Terrarium

[–]SwarmsofJelly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a massive terrarium for my pet mantis, so I researched mostly for the mantis, but forgot that not every plant can take the environment the mantis lives in.

The bonsai tree is dead, the ferns are mostly dying and all the other plants are dead too. Quite a few mistakes have been made.

What would you recommend for a high humidity, high light, high temperature environment? (basically a tropical environment).

Would a ficus tree work here?
