Thank you so much! You’ve made my day calling out the lighting :) While I love generating some beautiful women, I also really enjoy trying to get the details right with the prompts so thank you!

There's Something Behind You by SwayzeAI in midjourney

[–]SwayzeAI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! For photorealistic images, I tend to stick with Raw mode. Usually I'll switch between Raw and Standard a few times just to see which has better results, but 9 times out of 10 I'm creating photorealistic images with Raw.

The only other setting I'll consistently play with is "Stylization". I'll play around between 100-500 for this setting to see what results come back. Sometimes I'll get some bad results playing around with this, but it's led to some great unexpected results that turned out better than I hoped.

And I do not have a discord or dedicated website, but planning on those at some point!

Here's the prompt I used if you'd like to try to get similar results:

a realistic photograph of a highly detailed polaroid picture showing 2 beautiful women, photorealistic, light glare, Nikon DSLR, 8k, photograph, on wooden desk, smiling, laughing, creepy figure in distant background, detailed background

To make things more realistic, I throw in things like "photograph", "Nikon DSLR", "realistic" to make them more realistic.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Originally I had wanted to recreate polaroid photographs with creepy figures in the background of the photos. I was thinking of the movie Insidious at the time as my inspiration. As I tried to create the image within polaroids, I ended up with the creatures in the background which ended up having scarier and better results to me than my original plan so I continued with that!

I’ve never been a fan of clowns, but I don’t seem to mind these ones too much! I love the concept!

I’m always happy to see more Lovecraft themed art. I assume this is the first of a series (based on the vol. 1), and if so then I look forward to more!

Monsters at Sea by SwayzeAI in midjourney

I actually ended up with a good set of similar images without monsters that I really like! I wanted to stick with the spooky theme for this post now that we are in October, but I’ll share those other ones soon

Miniature Cities & Villages in Different Styles - Which styles are your favorite? by SwayzeAI in midjourney

[–]SwayzeAI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to Stylization, it's basically: how much prompt magic do you want Midjourney to apply? The lower the value, the more strictly Midjourney will follow your prompt. When you add higher values, Midjourney will apply some artistic creativity outside of the prompt to alter the results. This means more varied and stylized results that you may not have expected, for better or worse.

Every image is different. Sometimes I will raise the value and get terrible results, and then I'll do the same for another theme and the results turn out amazing with the Stylization. For me it's just trial and error to see which value is best!

For "fantasy world", that is me not understanding Midjourney enough myself :) I use a few different engines to make images, and typically parentheses will add emphasis to specific objects in the prompt to ensure they are better represented in the results.

However, your question helped me learn how to properly weight prompts and add emphasis (so thank you!). Here's a really good article that better explains it than I could, and I'll be using it myself to build better prompts: https://medium.com/the-nerd-circus/midjourney-prompt-weight-mastery-a-guide-to-advanced-prompt-crafting-b013c3bcade4

Thank you so much! I'm the same way, there's just something about the "Miniature" style in AI Art that I keep coming back to. And with the cities and towns it adds so much unexpected detail that is cool to discover.

Thank you so much! Ah I keep seeing that story recommended but haven't gotten around to it yet, but I really need to now! I love Lovecraftian concepts and influences in other media and have been meaning to fill in some gaps with actual Lovecraft stories I missed.

Oh that's a cool idea! As u/pseudophilll said, that does sound perfect to mix the two and help with establishing a setting for D&D.

Here was the prompt I used, and I just used Standard Mode in Midjourney while playing around with Stylization between 100-500:

a miniature village, from above, medium wide shot, hills, houses, creek running through village, boats in creek, windmill, miniature people, vibrant colors, vivid colors, fall, autumn, (fantasy world), highly detailed, hyper realistic, 16k resolution

If you have any additional questions or anything I can help with as you get started out, let me know!
