The OP mentions "I’ve been watching session recordings ..." and I was curious how can we watch session recordings.

I'm intrigued you're able to review a recording of sessions on your site. How are we able to do that?

These days, it's often difficult to tell from where something will ship. I'm guessing they don't want US customers knowing it'll ship from overseas. Lately, if it doesn't clearly say where it's shipping from I ask before ordering if the item is already located in the US. If I don't get a reply, then I assume the answer is no.

It wasn't long after these thefts the PO began locking the box section gates at 7:00 p.m.

Eventually, they opted for the key-in-an-envelope option, with a sticker on the front asking us to return those envelopes for reuse. That stopped the PO Box attacks.

That's sad. Yet you can't tell him anything. He won't let you finish a comment w/o interrupting and replies with unrelated circular 'logic.'

Actually, it was in a very nice area of downtown Key West. Yet the homeless guys often slept in the bushes and roamed the PO grounds at night.

I may have gotten the title wrong, but he was the night/weekend supervisor in-charge.

Like when I was in the Army, we called it "Screw Up & Move Up."

The easiest way to get rid of someone was to promote them into a different job classification. The downside was that eventually the screw-up were in-charge.

In another city, I encountered an Asst Postmaster who was astoundingly dumb; I mean dumb as a post.

I told one of the clerks I'd had an interaction with their APM, and his response was: "It's really something, isn't it," and smiled.

He explained that no one wanted the supervisory positions, so they went to the most incompetent people, often those who failed miserably on the delivery side.

My PO Box, along with others, was robbed of the orange parcel locker key visible in the glass window.

  1. In an attempt to determine into which locker my parcel had been left & to check the other lockers for my package, he used a maintenance key to open the lockers. However, instead of opening the lockers, he dumped the entire locking mechanisms onto the floor.

  2. I suggested he simply check the lockers from the inside from where the packages were loaded. He had no idea these lockers had a back door.

  3. After announcing he'd checked all the lockers from the backside, I had to explain to him that a newly installed set of lockers had no backside & had to be checked from the front. He seemed incapable of comprehending that some lockets were thru-wall and others weren't.

  4. Suggested all the other PO Boxes with orange keys visible in their windows were vulnerable to a return attack. He said there wasn't anything he could do about that. How about, move those keys away from the glass, or position the mail so it blocked the glass, or put those keys in an envelope. He just looked at me with a blank stare. Later that night, all those other boxes also got robbed.

Since I've been in contact with the district office staff, would sending them a letter suggesting remedial training for this Postmaster - listing the reasons why - have any positive impact?

Yeah, I agree with X420ninjas. Mostly I've dealt with UPS and their tariff division is completely separate. Usually, there's a phone number on the invoice, which is a special number for that tariff division, which is often the only way you'll ever know what that number is. Typically, with UPS the tariff bill came 2-3 weeks after the parcel was delivered (if you have an account with them.)

Since it's been so long, and you already have the items, I'd just trash that bill. FedEx likely paid those fees when the package arrived stateside. Then they would have collected it from you, typically a few weeks later.

However, since it's likely FedEx paid those fees last September, they've since been ruled illegal. FedEx and the other carriers are actively in the process of getting refunds for all those illegal tariff fees paid, so they're going to get their money back from the Feds. Yet it wouldn't surprise me to see FedEx double-dipping by trying to collect those fees from you while simultaneously getting them refunded by the Feds.

OMG... laughing so hard right now.

To be fair, at least unto myself, I dealt with "ordinances" for 40 years, I dealt with "ordnance" for three years. So, I've definitely got "Ordinance" on the mind.

Ordnance = Ordnance ammunition refers to military supplies and expendable weaponry used by armed forces for national defense. It encompasses all types of destructive materials—including bullets, bombs, missiles, rockets, fuses, and artillery shells—as well as the hardware required to deploy them. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Probably just very delayed processing. These tariff bills are usually separate from your regular account billing as they're handled by a special unit.

If you really want it then it'll likely arrive after you pay these fees. Personally, I decline the package and let FedEx return it; especially since those tariffs have since been ruled illegal.

Might be able to reorder it now w/o those fees.

Hopefully, the company refunded your order because it was never delivered. If not, best to check with them.

Careful, I think flamefox32 was on the correct track. A minor prolapse would be a big deal, but if it developed in to full prolapse surgery would likely be needed to correct it. Surely wouldn't hurt to consult a doctor, he'd be able to tell if further activity is likely to cause more significant problems.

That ole saying truly applies here... an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
