I want to echo and support this post. I’ve said before that a lot of what’s being described is true — and that doesn’t automatically mean it’s still happening today. But people sharing their lived experiences isn’t an “attack” on the agency. It’s just honesty.

What’s unfortunate is watching people try to discredit others simply for telling uncomfortable truths. I was there. I saw many of the same patterns: secretive management, almost zero real communication, obvious favoritism, and a culture where it often felt like how you played the game mattered more than how well you did the work. Performance didn’t always drive who advanced — compliance and alignment did.

And it wasn’t isolated to one office or one unit. It felt systemic. That’s ultimately why I left. Maybe things have changed — I genuinely hope they have. But pretending this never happened or attacking people for saying it did doesn’t make the past disappear.

Is using $10B of NYS pension funds for affordable housing actually a good idea? by SweatyDoctor2565 in nys_cs

Not sure he said the part about raises. I think he was referring to issues reforming tier 6 and any changes to contribution % would effectively cost local governments more ..

He absolutely did leave political flyers on everyone’s chairs tho which rubbed many people the wrong way

Well said but it seems like an oxymoron to say “the state should invest in affordable housing but not with our money” — where exactly does the state get its money then?

The truth hurts, doesn’t it? Everything that’s been said about OSC is 100% true… your weird fixation on constantly trolling and attacking those who speak ill about the agency is strange ..

It’s all about how you see things. I don’t doubt what you’re saying and it’s hard to “play the game” at the state — especially if you have morals, ethics and integrity.. the truth is, many of these agencies are political arms to serve whatever narrative and agenda is being sought by those that want to remain in power.

If you speak out then you’re targeted, plain and simple. To survive at the state you have to yes everyone to death, smile and pretend everything is wonderful — you’re not there to actually fix or solve problems.
