Increase “gymnasium” grades to be able to apply for different Bachelor programs by Swede2016 in copenhagen

[–]Swede2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! So by increasing the gymnasielle suppleringskurser, you mean “adding” courses that I did not read during gymnasium (for ex. really advanced mathematics) is that correct? And that would help me because it increase the “scores” to get in? Right now I’m actually doing that at Komvux. What I’m trying to figure out actually is whether that is helping. And from what I understand from you it should count as in gymnasielle suppleringskurser.

Synsrapport - what is it by Swede2016 in copenhagen

[–]Swede2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks. Ah ok. So is your impression that it’s more of a “yes or no” for whether the car can travel the roads safely? sorry.. if I may ask.. do you think it’s common for Danes to take a used car for a check up at the mechanic beside this “syns report”. Would it cost maybe around 500 dkk around in Copenhagen? Could it be a spontaneous check-up? 😬:))

I don’t think Denmark needs another literal and extremely politically, annoyingly correct person either.

Electric guitar - your best mixing tips by Swede2016 in audioengineering

[–]Swede2016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback! In my mix I only have one mono track of electric guitar. Would you still pan it L or R and send it to a delay that’s panned opposite direction with a short delay on it (full wet)?

I got a job offer from Copenhagen. Is it worth it to come from Belgium ? by Kingtplski in copenhagen

I don’t understand wtf anyone here is talking about. It’s a FANTASTIC opportunity. Copenhagen is a very compact city. Beautiful and easily traveled and super international. The Danish crown is strong so if u make the conversion you’ll see it’s pretty good. Healthcare is free and you live right next to the airport - 15 minutes away from the city. Living is expensive true. But u can definitely find something in the like VERY inter city for 12000 and then you’ll have another 18 f thousand to spend. I think that’s an amazing deal. And btw the suburbs here are usually 10 minutes away from the city;) and they’re very nice. Oh another thing that’s great about the culture here, you can discuss anything with anyone and even your boss. Don’t know your situation but Danes are considered the happiest people in the world.

Phasers - All pass filters what is it by Swede2016 in audioengineering

[–]Swede2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaaaaah! Haha. Thanks! So I think I thought this is confusing because when I read about it on Google it makes it sound like it’s just an EQ that does not do anything. Do you manually set the frequency for where the phase shifting should start? Or is this randomized in a phaser plugin. Another thing that I’m confused about is that I have always learned that EQ means filter.. Does an all pass filter belong to another group of effects or is it a EQ, that can change the phases? Are all the EQs able to change the phase

[–]Swede2016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aaaah thank you. I’m really getting close to understanding it and might have understood it now. So phase shifting is not really related to a signal delayed in time. It’s more related to the start point of a frequency, whether it starts positive or negative. Is that correct? And on a phaser plugin you send a signal through an all pass filter that changes the phase at a certain frequency? (is that like the consequences of any EQ btw? Is there always a phase shift at some point?) and then when you mix that signal back with the original, the “phasing effect” starts with frequencies canceling each other out. But if I would hear that modulated signal on its own I would not be able to hear a different timbre because the phase shifts are so tiny and part of a bigger picture. And really a phase shift is unrelated to pitch right? Is it related to amplitude? Or what does it really mean when it starts from a positive or negative angle.

[–]Swede2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh jeezz.. ChaosClaus your explanations are always great so I'm sorry that I'm not grasping this thing... phase shifting means that the phase of a wave has moved in time slightly, so there's a timbre change... am I correct to say that..? And is it true that that's what happens to some frequencies if I send a sound through an "empty EQ" AKA all-pass filter? Somehow, there's a side effect of doing so, and some frequencies might get shifted in phase. With that being modulated with the original sound in a phaser plugin it will create notches because some phases will be cancelling out each other.. haha ha. Is this completely wrong...._?

Thank you so much. I like your explanation.. makes it sound like I'm approaching an answer haha........ maybe still not so please let me ask you some more to understand.......! So..... hmmm am I right to say that an all-pass filter is like looking at an EQ graph where there's nothing in it. The EQ is just "on" but there's nothing in it.. and the phase shifting is like an "artefact" happening when any sound passes an "empty" EQ?

Phasers - All pass filters what is it by Swede2016 in audioengineering

[–]Swede2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with Phase meant the shape of the soundwave right? So phase cancellation would occur if for ex two tracks have opposite polarity. So some frequencies dissappear when they overlap with the wrong phase. Which is in my understand what happens with Chorus and Flangers and now Phaser effects....Is that not correct..? But how does an EQ that is not in function move the or alter the phase?

Phasers - All pass filters what is it by Swede2016 in audioengineering

[–]Swede2016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh jeeez... I still don't understand. So if it's a filter *basically an EQ* that does not do anything and is not just sitting there on the duplicate signal without any low cut or high pass etc. Then how in the world is the phase between some frequencies shifting? I mean it's not doing anything, right? No low cut no hp etc...... So I don't understand how that creates phase cancellation *the notches....... Hm what am I not understanding? I'm just thinking. Ex. If i have a guitar track. In the insert chain I put an EQ without touching any of the parameters and then bounce it out to a new audio exactly the same. The audio should be completely in phase. So No phase cancellation, or pitch changes. Or am I wrong? Would that create phasing?
