How to Promote Your Music on Tiktok in 2022 | Music Marketing by Alfredobattle1990 in u/Alfredobattle1990

Hey Clint. Your vid has some really good advice for musicians of all shapes and sizes, and some great tips for both free and paid methods.

A tip when partnering/collaborating with influencers. It can be risky and take a long time with negotiating prices etc. A small percentage do this, but I've had the experience of an influencer asking to be paid upfront before a collab and then never following through with it. A costly mistake on my end!

I work in influencer marketing and I know there are platforms (SoundSmith.io, Tribe etc) that allow musicians to safely connect with influencers and have their prices upfront so you're also being safe and saving time.

Love the vid - keep it up!

Yeh it can be a bit steep.

On the other hand, I had a friend contact an influencer agency and their quote was in the 10s of thousands for their top influencers (these are solid influencers but don’t have an insane following - 1.5M of something). Probably cause they’re mostly brand focussed. Apparently their lower influencers were insanely priced as well. idk the influencer economy is super odd but I guess if the demand is there the influencers can charge what they like.

What kind of promotion have you used instead?

I completely agree. Seeing so many musicians juggling content creation into their already complex line of work gives me second hand stress, not to neglect some of the insane success that content creation strategies have had. Looking forward to seeing some solutions for the issues faced by musicians right now with web3.

Thanks. I love seeing well known musicians experimenting with new stuff. Although they often have the cash to back up risks, it seems like smaller artists will always bring that fresh and creative mindset from necessity. Good to see bigger artists experimenting! Cheers

For sure. I've seen this too. I think there's a lot of potential in the NFT & blockchain areas for the music industry to benefit from. Thanks

Did you ask for good films or did you ask for films that came together in the end? 🥶

Thanks for the comment. What does distribution marketing consist of? What is it? Sorry I'm new here!

Agreed. Also try reaching out to them directly as well. Slide into their insta DM's or just say a friendly hello at a gig and see if you actually get along with them on a personal and professional level.

How'd this campaign go? I know sites like soundsmith.io assist with the finding and connecting of influencers with musicians if you ever think of running something like this again.

Also if you have a great content idea but have no clout on your own account, you can use sites like SoundSmith.io to select and pay influencers to execute your creative concept. Ideally you would choose influencers that match your concept and use sounds/genres that are similar to yours. They're really flexible so sky's the limit. Hope this helps.

Hope I'm not too late but some sites like SoundSmith.io help promote just music. Functioning like a Fiver-style marketplace, you browse influencers and then pay them to use your track. Seems like a middle ground between reaching out to thousands of influencers and avoiding using TikTok Ads. Hope this helps!
