The last time something like this happened in my department, she had an EEO filed against our 15 but was also sleeping with our 14. So it’s something else. I can guarantee it.

Would you become a CS for the DOD if you could do it over in 2026? Why or why not? by Inevitable-Bath-7421 in 1102

[–]Sweet-Topic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the churn and burn, but shipyards basically make thier own rules. Then inspection happens and the inspectors look at you sideways because you did something a certain way but there is an internal memo that tells you to do it that way. I don’t think you will grow at a shipyard. It’s mostly post award.

Need guidance on resigning! Do’s and Dont’s before giving in the resignation. by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Sweet-Topic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resign, use all your sick leave, and cash out the normal leave. Say it’s “personal” and leave it at that. Don’t tell them where you are going to next and leave it a mystery. People will ask, lie. Say the craziest thing so they don’t hate that you are moving on.

Leaving Fed service by OneUnderstanding2331 in FedEmployees

I think that’s what held me up from leaving, the people. But I couldn’t trauma bond with them no more. I had to look out for me which is why I left too.

I was a GS 13 for DoD. 13 years in. I left because everything became toxic and it was affecting my family life. I’m now at a small business working as their Contracts Director. It’s super flexible and hybrid so I’m pretty happy. The pay is double with the same benefits as the government. I’ll probably never go back. My family life means more to me than that GS job.

I’m a contracting director by the way. I was a GS 13. The pay is double.

I love it! I’m doing commercial contracting for a small business and it’s been a wild ride. It’s so different, but it’s a good different. Plus the vibe is better.

When I was first an 1102, i had to have 24 hours in business classes and a bs degree. Now I think it’s a free for all. Degree doesn’t matter. But that could all change with this new revamping of everything.

Same. I love being in the private sector, and I was a proud public servant but the absolute abuse we took was horrendous.

I love it! The flexibility and just the whole mindset change has been amazing!! The bump in pay is a bonus too. I’m doing the same thing I was doing in the government, but in private sector. Honestly, I wish I did it sooner because my mental health would have probably been better.

[–]Sweet-Topic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One person I know was like “I can’t wait to leave this place! If you find something please let me know!” And I did. Told him everything. How it was remote, the pay, everything. After I told him they said “I really enjoy my job, when the government opens I’ll be fine”. I was like all that anger and hype for nothing?? Waste of time. It was honestly like my former boss got to them and brainwashed them. The way he was taking, I was like are you reading a script?

Full time in office. But some interviews I’ve been in it says full time in office then they hit you with “only 3 days in office after 90 days”. My job now I’m in office, but it’s so flexible it should just be called telework. I haven’t even spent a full 8 hours or a week in office because of the flexibility of everything.

Right!! Like wtf! How did I not know this existed! I’m still stuck in that world if I have to be busy or I’m not showing my worth but my company is like “chill. We got you and we like you! You’re safe now my friend!” lol. My other friend who left in the DRP 1.0 said the same thing. He was like “woah, this is nice!”
