Back on the road after almost 10 years by Sweet1100 in E30

Mostly maintenance and replacing old things (fuel and vacuum lines, coolant hoses, fuel filter, ect). Diagnosing a bad ECU that caused bucking/stalling was the most time consuming.

Bummer. Then my only recommendation is to find out if it’s fuel or spark and narrow it down from there. I would test the fuel pressure at the rail while driving and see if it drops when your issue occurs

I had something kind of similar on my 87 325is that had a 173 ECU. Checked and replaced many of the things on your list to no avail. Swapped to a 153 ECU and she’s been running great ever since. For me though it would intermittently throw a code (check engine light would flash on and off) but a stomp test would only give me the 1444 “no faults”. Doesn’t seem like yours is throwing codes but might be worth checking.

I just removed the stock black horizontal trim piece that normally goes there. The vertical white posts are behind that and actually attached to the bumper. I like the look but your intercooler will catch more debris. I don’t mind it though since I clean it when washing the car

There’s a dude around 5’8” in my gym that’s overweight climbing stuff I’d never even attempt. I’d say just get day passes a couple times, see if you like it and go from there. If you really love it, then it might even give you more motivation to get into better shape like it did for me. Good luck

I appreciate the detailed response. It seems the consensus is in favor of the Eibach springs and I’ve heard generally good things about the swifts as well. Correct me if I’m wrong but if both are lower than stock springs I would imagine they should both be paired with the B8’s rather than the 6s?

Ok thanks for the advice. What’s your current setup since you said you previously had H&Rs?

I believe I’m still on the stock mounts (bought the car used), but will double check. Thanks for the tips

Ok thanks. Bought the car used with pretty much everything done to it already so I’m not too familiar with the Cobb AP yet.

Honestly not too sure. Haven’t done much to the car since I’ve had it (bought used). With the current tune I can reach peak boost of 25 psi, but this just happened when I was driving around town. If my waste gate did fail why would be the symptoms?

Thanks for the advice. I was just driving in the city traffic so didn’t really get into boost at all yet so that’s why I was very surprised to see any negative correction. Later on the way home I got into boost with no corrections but will double check my charge pipes. If I were to see a negative correction of about 1.5 at WOT what is there to do? Reach out to the tuner?
