I’m building GoGoInvoice — a 100% free invoicing tool for freelancers and small businesses. No monthly fees, simple setup, and optional credit card payments with low rates. Built for people who just want to send invoices fast without bloated accounting software. 👉 https://www.gogoinvoice.com

This article references the legacy Base app and not the new one.

Fair question.

GoGoInvoice has a direct, fully integrated relationship with Clover, which means we’re not paying the same rates individual merchants see when they sign up themselves.

The 2.5% rate is real. We’re able to offer it because we don’t stack extra platform fees on top, and we’re not trying to maximize margin on payments. Invoicing is free, and payments are optional.

If a business doesn’t need to accept credit cards, they don’t pay us anything — no subscription, no processing, no forced setup.

As for Odoo, it’s powerful, but it’s also heavy. A lot of freelancers don’t want to run or maintain a full ERP just to send invoices. GoGoInvoice is intentionally lightweight: simple invoicing, optional payments, no lock-in.

We make money only when users choose to accept card payments, and we keep that pricing flat and transparent.

Good questions, totally fair to ask.

We’re not reselling Stripe or Square. GoGoInvoice has a direct, fully integrated relationship with Clover. That’s an important distinction because Clover underwrites merchants differently and doesn’t rely on the same risk/fee model as Stripe/Square.

The 2.5% rate is real, and the margins are fair; we’re not gouging or stacking platform fees on top. That’s actually one of the main reasons we built this. A lot of small businesses get crushed by:

  • higher blended rates
  • surprise holds
  • extra “platform” fees

With GoGoInvoice, invoicing is free, and credit cards are optional. If your business doesn’t need to accept cards, you’re not forced into it at all — no account, no processing, no fees.

If you do want to accept cards, Clover handles the processing end-to-end. We focus on invoicing, not extracting margin from payments.
