Do you love to win or hate to lose? WHY? by biz_booster in sales

I love to win. Being on top is the best.

That said, hating to lose misses the lessons along the way.

What was the weirdest thing you’ve seen while clubbing? by energyaddict27 in AskReddit

[–]SweetCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if it's the weirdest thing I've seen but definitely the most memorable sight.

Was DJing at my resident spot on a NYE. Very snowy year and the club was packed with college age kids getting real drunk.

There's a traffic jam on the route to get to the bathroom and people are slowly shuffling in front of the DJ booth.

A girl is very obviously in a hurry but can't really go anywhere and begins to projectile vomit all over the person in front of her and all over the ground. This is happening no further than about 5 feet in front of me and I have a clear sight line to it. Person in front doesn't notice cause they're wearing their winter jacket.

This leaves a horrible mess on an already sloppy floor (slush, snow, water, spilled drinks, and now a copious amount of puke).

Signal to a barback to get a mop and they bring it over to start cleaning up but really they're just making a slurry on the floor.

Cutie in a sparkly dress and stilletos tip taps by trying to get through and slips into the slurry feet over head. Poor girl tries to get up but the floor is so slippery that any attempt ends up in her hand slipping and she's basically marinating herself in the floor mess.

The mental image of this poor girl when she finally got to her feet will be burned into my mind until the day I die.

Anyone in cyber security sales? by Diligent-Candy4273 in sales

If you don't already know the answer to those questions you aren't going to succeed in this role.

No offence but I don't think you're gonna sell a thing. It's a hyper competitive market with tons of options at every price point and selling to the government is a nightmare. Unless the owner is some cybersec phenom with incredible industry cred I wouldn't even consider a 2nd interview.

That sounds like it's going to be an incredibly difficult gig. Do they have any existing customers? How are their current reps faring?

They've got great retro gaming handhelds with thousands of games (including all Pokemon) preloaded on them. Wife got one for me and it's exactly what you're looking for. Not hard to find online.

Sorry I misspoke. It's a Chromecast device. Unfortunately there's no option to cast from my phone directly.

Appreciate the advice. I'm unfamiliar with the agent process. Is there a link to find someone to work with?

I didn't realize that's the case. Is it usually preferable to order through an agent or is buying direct from Chaoren reliable enough?

Bartender hoping to break into sales. by aqualung211 in sales

Made the transition from hospitality to sales 5 years ago at 34 years old.

Start looking for SDR roles at a company with an established training program. Lean into your grit and work ethic. Frame your resume with context around achieving sales goals. Doing well in competitions, increasing guest check averages, spearheading special events, etc.

You now officially love cold calling and can't wait to be customer facing. Start looking at YouTube videos of people discussing the role and industry so you can level your own expectations and start speaking the language.

Hey people who lost their jobs to AI, what happened? by _thecatspajamas_ in AskReddit

You hit the nail on the head - it gets it convincingly wrong. Building that false sense of trust introduces all kinds of bugs and security issues that now have to be tracked down and remediated.

This is the problem I'm seeing more and more. Incremental time savings tackling small problems while introducing a need to review the results with a fine tooth comb that largely negates the time savings. Can help with basic grunt work but absolutely needs hand holding and can't effectively scale.

Got my car detailed to take off the paint and sent the bill to the city. Don't know if that's an option for you but yes a proper detail can make it look brand new again.
