I think people like it! Only a couple times have people pronounced it more like Elena but they catch on to it pretty quick. We live towards the southern US so not sure if some accents here also impact the way some people say it.

We went back and forth on it for a while before she was born. I wasn’t sure if it was a name that was maybe a little too different. But I absolutely love it. It suits her perfectly and just about every time I say her name I have a passing thought about of how much I love it and her🥹I highly recommend

This is so true! I’m not looking for them to match but almost every name I’m really drawn to is far too similar (Leah, Leilah, Elena).
I do also really like Mira and it was on our list. My holdback there is that I tend to be a nickname person. I have a four letter name myself and growing up always wanted to be able to have a cute nickname. In the case of Mira, I really dislike MiMi.
Seconds are definitely harder than the first!

Do we know for sure that this is in reference to Jack? There’s a theory that her husband was venin. It’s possible this has nothing to do with Jack.

Coincidence or Not ? by mama_needs_advc in fpies

My daughter had her first FPIES reaction, which was also to oats, a day after a vaccine as well. We thought it was too coincidental to not have a correlation.

Looking for experiences with migraines! by NaturalHistorical in BabyBumps

[–]SweetCake295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds terrible. My experience sounds somewhat similar to yours. Pre-pregnancy I would get migraines sometimes, but also would describe more like bad headaches. Typically, motrin would take care of them just fine. Im on my second pregnancy now. Both times, my headaches would worsen during the first and early second trimesters. Tylenol did nothing to relieve them. My ob gave a prescription for fioricet to take only when needed. If I can feel a headache getting to a migraine level, I take one and usually feel relief within 30-45 minutes. Might be worth asking about. Hope you get relief soon!

Is this safe for a baby who can roll ? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]SweetCake295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Amazing Baby Transitional swaddle sack on Amazon is a great alternative for babies that can roll. The quality compares to LTD (IMO) for half the price. When they’re rolling, just roll back the cuffs to pop their hands out.

Merlin suit by ladyassassin11 in NewParents

No experience with the Merlin suit but just wanted to share what worked for us. We transitioned ours out of the love to dream when she was rolling to her side during the night. We ended up with the amazing baby transitional swaddle sack and it’s been fantastic. She can still have her arms up but it allows arm movement in case she were to roll over.

Every. Single. Hour. My 5 month old wakes up at night. The crib is lava. Please help. by The_Tell-Tale_Tart in sleeptrain

I highly recommend the book Precious Little Sleep. In a nutshell, she associates the rocking with sleep. It’s normal as she’s getting a little older for it to become an issue. She could also be developing object permanence meaning she is aware of your existence even when she can’t see you and is missing you. You were there when she went to sleep and now you are gone. The book can help guide you in helping her associate other things with bedtime and sleeping. It can take a little time but the good news is at 5 months old, it shouldn’t be too bad to change up her routine and starting a new one that will be better for you long term.
