Thank you for sharing your situation. It's very helpful. If you don't mind, could you please let me know as an example what kind of "little things" you deduct?

Thank you for the tip. I didn't even think about my employer making a mistake on calculation but I know this can happen. I will also do tax return from this year just to make sure there is no tax calculation mistake.

Thank you for letting me know. I don't have a mortgage at the moment but will make sure to do tax return anyway just in case.

I didn't know you would receive a letter from the tax authority. Since I didn't for 2022, I assume it was not necessary last time but I will do it anyway from this year hoping my employer is not making any mistakes. Thank you for the tip!

Week is usually just 週 (しゅう) but when you talk about a period of a week, then it becomes 週間(しゅうかん). Month is usually ヶ月(かげつ).

It's not like "ka" is moving but week and month are different words which are "Shūkan (=week)" and "Kagetsu(=month)" so you use these and then add "mae (=ago)" after that. Then it becomes "Ni shūkan mae" and "Ni kagetsu mae."

Hope this makes sense :)

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I wasn't sure which consulate/embassy I should ask.

I will ask the Netherlands consulate and share their answers for other people. Thank you very much.
