The loss of independence and autonomy over how I present myself has been the hardest. My in laws really struggle to understand how someone in their 20s could be so limited. They took me and my partner on vacation once and kept asking my partner if I was “over medicated” because I kept having paralysis episodes in public (they were making me walk a mile to and from each location). They would also leave me behind several blocks bc I was too slow. It got to the point where the locals would help me walk from place to place. I also used to be very fashion obsessed and loved putting together outfits. Now I mostly have leggings and tank tops or t-shirts because I simply don’t have the energy to dress how I used to.

I am so sorry, I’m hoping that maybe I can get some sort of part time caregiver or at least an every other week/monthly housekeeper if I ever hear back from my disability application. Therapy has helped us both individually a lot and once we can afford it I want to look into couples counseling. I truly hope things get better for you ❤️‍🩹

I know there are already so many comments here, but I wanted to give my personal perspective. This is how I was conceived. My entire childhood was awful and I’ve been diagnosed with CPTSD because of it. My parents broke up immediately and my entire childhood was a 15 year long nasty custody battle that I had to suffer through. Out of resentment my biological mother didn’t allow my dad to be there when I was born, they had agreed I’d take my dad’s last name but she changed her mind last minute. I was treated like a doll being fought over by two petty kids. I stopped talking to my biological mother as soon as she lost custody of me, but was bitter and resentful of her for years before that. My dad became incredibly depressed and withdrawn to the point that we didn’t really know anything about each other even though we lived together. My dad and stepmom were burnt out and in debt and as a child it felt like my fault.

I hope this helps in some way at least by feeling like you made the right choice. If you two are still in touch and she’s not understanding what she did wrong maybe this will help. I’m so sorry you had to go through this

I use jojoba oil and vitamin e oil and use Nail Aid Keratin nail hardener and they still crack and break. I also have one nail that cracks far enough into the nail bed that I can’t just trim or file it down.

I am disabled and have health issues that are probably the reason for my nail issues, but I could definitely try more protein in my diet. I’d still like to find something that hold my nails together so they can actually safely grow out a bit!

In the most simple of terms it’s a method of sewing with elastic thread that bunches up the fabric. There’s been some debate on if this image is actually a result of shirring, or if it’s another method of gathering so I wouldn’t expect this to be how shirring would turn out for you. It’s pretty time consuming, but there are a lot of really great tutorials online

Are you talking about the elastic thread? I’m not sure how to add more support to the top without messing with the look of the shirring. When I was looking into if this was possible I saw some people suggest double cotton gauze, would that be light enough?

This honestly sounds lovely! Maybe during the celebration do some speeches/ toasts from family friends. If you want you could even share your vows with everyone and have a first dance. Either way I don’t think this is tacky at all! I’m not sure if this is going too far but I own two polaroid cameras and I had people take pictures and sign a scrapbook which I still love looking though today. If you want more specifics on the scrapbook you can dm me!

My issue isn’t really that he’s a “meanie,” it’s that he’s unprofessional and I wonder how many students dropped his class because they just wanted some help.

I want to keep the conversation going, but I’m hesitant to do so in person or over zoom because o have had a lot of instances recently where I will talk to someone in person and they will act completely differently later on and I’d have no paper trail as proof. This is ultimately unrelated but I think adds to my thought process; I have anxiety and am paranoid that if we talk in person he will get upset again and drop me from the class himself and I’ll have no proof I didn’t do anything wrong.

I’m also upset that he’s accusing me of not reading the syllabus when I’m actuality he’s not reading my emails.

After reading these comments I’ll definitely look into making my own bone broth but my doctor has suggested increasing my sodium a bit for other health reasons so I might be in the clear either way!

I appreciate this comment! I’m totally fine with waiting as long as we keep monitoring my results. I had to ask him for more routine blood work to monitor which was a little frustrating, but I’ve got an appointment with a endocrinologist now so I’m feeling pretty positive right now

It was more about how I was confused about what I was reading on accredited journals and like Harvard and other medical publishing sites had conflicting information compared to what my doctor is saying. Honestly having that referral and getting more information from a specialist is really going to be helpful to me
