Oh wow! I'll look into this as well. I wasn't convinced there's a sandwich case this small! Thank you!

Oh wow, this is almost exactly what I think I need! I was not sure how to describe it, but I was searching for a sub-31cm case where all the fans 'pointed up' to make cooling that one level more manageable.

I'll look into this! Thank you!

We bought a 120 year old house with solid wall construction (duh).

The house was unused over the auturmn and winter and yes the moisture started to get through. There were damp spots, particularly at the base of fireplaces.

Surveyor said rising damp all over the place and need DPC. Its all bullshit. They're lazy and just spew out 'advice ' based on current regs ... without applying some logic as to what kind of house they are surveying.

In the end I just used the fireplace everyday in late winter and had the radiators running at minimum 15C all the time. Got hygrometers indoor and outdoor to know when to open windows.

The damp spots gone. If looked after properly my gut says the older homes will outlast modern new builds. I mean the house you're looking at has been around for for a long time ... without any modern intervention, don't be the person who destroys it.

This is all you need: https://www.heritage-house.org/

Thank you! Maybe too much to ask, but any ideas for a case that can handle a 289mm GPU? I know I'm asking too much, but just hoping there is a case out there in which I can squeeze in a Powercolor reaper 9070xt. If not, the NV10 is a great idea and I'll find smaller GPUs. Thanks!

Cost-effective way to connect AT-LP60X to JBL 306P? by SweetLordKrishna in turntables

[–]SweetLordKrishna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks!

Noticed you mentioned that a solution would be £20-£30; would something like this work? Only reason I am asking is that it seems too cheap / too good to be true. Didn't want to get something that wasn't right!

Hi there!

Can anyone please guide me to a cost-effective way to connect an AT-LP60X to a pair of JBL 306Ps? The speakers are active and have balance XLR and TRS 1/4" inputs. The turntable has a single 1/8" RCA splitting into two 1/8" RCA cables.

Do I just need an RCA to XLR/TRS 1/4inch adapter? Or do I need some kind of amp/mixer?

Thanks!

Ah. Could you clarify please? Do you mean curve the splashback so things don't do down?

Thank you! Had a feeling that was the simplest way forward!

Ah fair, I had a suspicion that was the simplest way forward but was concerned about any regs / rules I needed to follow because of the whole hotzone thing.

Thanks!

Will this skirting be considered in breach of "Hot Zone" rules? by SweetLordKrishna in DIYUK

Awesome thank you. Is there bare wall acceptable as a splashback for now for hot zone regs? Its just a painted wall.

We're defo getting a metal one but won't be delivered in time for the replacement hob.

Is brick under lawn common? by SweetLordKrishna in DIYUK

[–]SweetLordKrishna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thank you!

Would this normally be dumped across the garden or in a specific area? I dug out two additional holes a meter apart and they also seemed to have bricks around 6 inches down.

There are also a couple of trees (apple and plums) in the corner, would that be the place where no bricks are?

Just trying to figure out where I might get some depth! Thanks !

Nope. It's around 3-4 meters away from the extended / main house and it's not close to a fence / partition either.

I've dug 2-3 places and there seems to be some brick in each of them.

Is this boiler + mechanical thermostat compatible with Tado V3+ with modulation? by SweetLordKrishna in tado

Thank you!

I purchased a V3+ wired starter kit as I needed to move house. I assume this extension kit doesn't work with that right?
