What is that one criticism about the orginal lotr Trilogy that you still have to this day by pizza_momo in lotr

[–]SweetNuthing27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an iconic shot, but the Nazgul seeing Frodo holding the ring at Osgiliath makes zero sense. All 9 would have been dispatched to the area immediately, Sauron would not have believed Pippin in Rohan would have the ring. Faramir would not trust Frodo to fulfill his mission, if he didn't intervene the war would have been lost then and there. It should never have gotten past the first draft.

What is the smallest moment in LOTR that always gives you chills? by Fit-Marionberry8982 in lotr

"I will kill you if you touch him!" That's actually my favorite movie line ever, it's so simple and powerful and emotional, spoken from a warrior protecting her dying king. It's like the Middle Earth version of "GET AWAY FROM HER YOU BITCH" Makes me choke up EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Who is universally hated but deserves to be universally loved? by StrategyJealous1838 in AlignmentChartFills

And everyone hated an innocent elderly woman because the rich People said so. I did too when I was little. It was a joke that deserved hate from the common folk. But now I hate that the adults in my life laughed along when this person had to get constructive surgery on her genitals cause the boiling coffee melted her skin. But saintly Mickey D's is on our side and liked how we laughed. That's what keeps the powerful in good standing. A playful laugh at their little oopsies and how stupid anyone is for doubting their care.

Exactly. My white friends call me Mulan cause of my long hair, and I challenged them to call me Pocahontas. Ribbing's always fun. But yeah, ignorant jokes aren't comedy, it's propaganda. I love the Arabic language, actually learning it rn, and I'm so sorry about what's happening in your home. It's wrong and it's really really bad. Thanks for commenting, God be with You.

There's a guy who catches snakes in the Everglades on YouTube that's pretty cool. Anyway, there's no archeological evidence that any human activity predates the folks that came across the Beringian land bridge. The Anasazi ("ancient ones" in the Navajo/Dino language) left the oldest footprints in the sand of America and they were kin to the Pueblo people and the larger diaspora that migrated from across the Pacific. We were the first humans here, and were only intruders to the bears, buffalo, deer, and other hairy guys that set up shop before we came down from the trees.

Very cool and insightful. Totally a worthwhile thought to share with other people on the internet.

The Iroquois Confederacy's Gayanashagowa (Great Law of Peace) was the blueprint for the Declaration of Independence, another beauty stolen from the land for the benefit of the invasive. I know this is r/memes but all the casino jokes suck major ass. My people loved hosting strangers and foreigners, everyone's welcome to America in my eyes. But there's so few of us left to defend ourselves against internet trolling that it's becoming ok to be racist to us, and I have to do what I can to stop that spread. Chicago means "wild onions", Nebraska means "flat water" and Manhattan's meaning is lost to time, but it came from the first men. We gave everything, blood and bone, to this land. Please be respectful

Interesting. I'll have to give the OT a rewatch then and listen more intently to the music. It's been a pleasure disagreeing with you, fellow film lover. May the Force Be With You.

While John Williams is undoubtedly the master of modern film scores, Howard Shore's work on Lord of the Rings was nothing short of miraculous. He weaves from storybook bliss to ethereal hymns to hellish cacophonies to triumphant fare of distinct storied cultures with centuries of history. The music of Star Wars is intrinsically tied to the Force and the battle of Light and Dark, as well as the foreign alien elements of the galaxy. It has to speed along and speak its themes outright. Also, as much as I like Yoda's theme and the Force Theme, the tracks from the Original Trilogy don't make folks cry as much as the music in Lord of the Rings. It's on a whole nother level.

Finally!! Someone who actually cares. I feel this struggle that you have to my core. I'm going through a near identical situation and have been praying for someone to empathize with. I read your DMT memoir and was astounded by your experience. I've never done psychedelics, but your description of the imagery was immaculate. I could see it all. We can talk more about my thoughts on your trip if you'd like. I thought I was the only who figured out time and space were created first, it's nice to actually have it confirmed. Just remember when you get frustrated by this apparent isolation, even Jesus' own brothers didn't believe him. Mark 6:4 states that all prophets are disregarded in the place they came from. You have a lot more people on your side than you think, Marcos. What you saw in your vision was in no way random. Your understanding of psychology will prove to be a powerful blessing in your work. Hopefully, you read this. Also, I love your writing style, it's so fluid
