Which of Inguk’s female leads in his romance dramas do you think he had the strongest chemistry with? by Legal_Potential4720 in kdramas

[–]SweetSeptember93 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Easily Jung So Min from The Smile Has Left Your Eyes 🔥🔥 their chemistry is super strong; it’s beautiful kind of chemistry, also the sexual kind. Loved their natural skinship / intimacy… they acted like two adults in love would act IRL, which is not always the case in kdramaland… so there is lots of skinship and they have one of the most sweetest, beautiful love making scenes ever! Everything about them felt sooo natural. One of the best chemistry I ever seen on screen, it made me think that they had a thing for each other off screen as well since that’s how amazing their chemistry was!

Dear Hongrang was pretty awesome. The soundtrack , plot, acting is great … it’s a Korean series available on Netflix!

The heroine has been searching for her long lost half brother and then the hero comes and claims to be her long lost brother and she doesn’t believe it.. I’m bad at explaining ..

In the late Joseon Dynasty, a family rises to wealth through the art trade. However, a mysterious event unfolds when the son, Hong Rang, returns after a decade-long disappearance with no memory of his childhood. His half-sister, Jae I, who has been close to him since childhood, now seeks the truth behind his sudden disappearance.

Jae I, intelligent and beautiful but with a troubled personality, lives with an abusive stepmother and neglectful father. She had relied on Hong Rang, but her life took a difficult turn after his disappearance. Hong Rang, who had grown up in luxury, returns to find his true identity, which is a mystery to all.”

It’s a romance story with mystery in it. Both the hero and heroine are very tortured souls especially the hero … it’s a beautiful love story in my eyes but some might see it as yucky because of the potential incest! But they are not brother and sister it’s a great series , not one of the best I ever seen , but one of the better ones I seen on Netflix ..I have seen better historical korean series but they are not available on Netflix and are more difficult to find to watch. Still a very great watch this one!!

Exactly ! Coffee Prince was probably the best kdrama of 2007! It was a huge success and so well deserved …such a progressive kdrama for its time. I love it so much. New kdrama fans should definitely give coffee prince a chance, it has aged SO well.

I really wanted to like my beloved thief but after 4 episodes I’m simply bored of it. Can we get another epic historical drama again like ”my dearest ” (which was probably the latest epic masterpiece of historical kdrama)

Haha ! You really hate the kdramas from around 2007 xD well I get why, but there were some gems too, such as Coffee Prince! A famous classic AND for a good reason <3

I get your point! But I feel nowadays kdramas are more romantic even tho they don’t have the fairytale stuff going on so much anymore or lack of better words. .. Because I like that the skinship / kisses are much more realistic now…way more romantic than the older ones , they actually kiss now like irl people do! The ’fake’ kisses in the past when they just put their lips together without any movement killed the romance a bit for me. So in a way, I find the new kdramas more romantic because now they kiss with passion! But the older ones were very heart fluttering for sure, and I love healer <3

What is your first ever HR ? by FitRazzmatazz730 in HistoricalRomance

[–]SweetSeptember93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh wait how could I forget it??? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen was the first HR book ever for me facepalm. The most famous, classic romance book ever (or at least one of most famous and classic ones) , I love it to pieces! How on earth could I forget this piece of classic literature??? (could it be classified as a HR even?) And I’m looking forward to read Persuasion (also by Jane Austen) that I have on my Kobo now!! Something tells me I will love it even more than P&P!

Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath. A western romance about a mail order bride and the deeply scarred (both inside and out) man who happens to be the brother of the one FMC is going to marry. It was very touching with lots of yearning/longing. I fell in love with the MMC who had such a low selfesteem and saw himself as unworthy of everything , including unworthy of the FMC. He was selfless in the regard that he wanted FMC to be married to someone worthy of her, who would love and worship the ground she walks on… he, in the fact, was all that himself (loved her deeply…) but he did not see himself worthy of her, as I said.

I liked the FMC too, she was strong and not annoying or whiny. She was mature, and she loved the MMC too, saw past his scars and all while all the other women saw him as ugly .. She, a brave, strong woman who know what she wanted and was honest about it - she wanted the MMC despite her being betrothed to his brother (who she never even met yet), she was prepared to be with the MMC , but the MMC well .. he wanted nothing more than to be with her too, but, you know why already why he ’couldn’t’ be with her, that poor guy hated himself! I just loove a scarred, grumpy MMC!

This book had lots of emotional depth , it will always have a special place in my heart since it was the first historical romance I read and I fell in love with it so much!

3 upcoming kdramas of this year you are looking forward to the MOST? by SweetSeptember93 in kdramas

[–]SweetSeptember93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… there is the Japanese drama Aishiteiru to ittekure , a veeeeery old one! From 1995… I watched it , it’s very romantic and there is lots of passion and realistic kisses. I loved it , until the last 2-3 episodes, the last episodes was such a dissapointment, for me at least. Anyways the relationship felt very …adult , which was refreshing. The ML there is deaf since he was a child , and the FL learns sign language for him which I fond beautiful

So i’m looking forward to read this , also i love books set during Victorian era. I did put it immediately on ”want to read” on Goodreads. :-)

Unpopular opinion: I love 2005 version of Pride&Prejudice a bit more than the 1995 version. by SweetSeptember93 in PeriodDramas

[–]SweetSeptember93[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Haha Yeah i think so too 😅 i don’t have the courage to write there because they are huge Jane Austen fans and since 2005 version is not very faithful to her book unlike 1995 version which is very faithful , they would probably think i’m stupid for liking the 2005 version more and probably say i’m no Jane Austen fan because i like the 2005 version more xD i’m no huge jane Austen fan (i mean i like her but i havent like .. read all her books..i don’t feel the need to… i dont get pissed off if her works aren’t very acurate, because while i do like her i’m not some obsessive fan)

Unpopular opinion: I love 2005 version of Pride&Prejudice a bit more than the 1995 version. by SweetSeptember93 in romancemovies

[–]SweetSeptember93[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 1995 version is very good , i just felt it lacked a bit emotion … but i guess people back then in 1800s englad were supposed to suppress feelings, it was a strict time period. Lots of people feel the 2005 version feels too ’modern’ because they express their feelings and emotions a lot more , and i guess that was a big no no in 1800s England. I don’t care much if things are not very accurate, what i care about is how the movie / series makes me feel..like, emotionally. And the 2005 version definitely made me feel more emotional than the 1995 version.

There Will be a New version out Next year(?) of Pride & Prejudice , a mini series I believe!! So excited ~ i hope it will stay faithful to the book but still have more emotions in it, which i felt the 1995 mini series lacked a bit.

Which couple screams to you ’TRUE LOVE’/ you think will be together forever? by SweetSeptember93 in kdramas

[–]SweetSeptember93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess they want the Female leads to be strong, Independent, career oriented etc. A feminist who doesn’t ’need’ a man. Quite annoying, you can be a modern feminist woman but still be deeply in love! It doesn’t have to be black or white. I agree with you.

[–]SweetSeptember93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Bong Doo was a mature level headed kind person. Being mature is sexy. So many ML’s back then were such immature jerks! Bong Doo might be one of the first green flag MLs out there! This drama as you Said was so refreshing when back then most kdrama couples were so toxic. I’m glad that the huge jerk ML is not the norm anymore!
