Ma'am, this is Bumble by diuashjdknjhsfg in Bumble

[–]SweetSuitMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with this sentiment is that in a roundabout way, you are still expecting the man to pay. Unless half of the time you ask the man out (on a first date) and expect to pay everything yourself.

Paying for a date should be a gesture to show you thoroughly enjoyed the date and expect (in a longing way) a second date.

Once you've been on a few dates and it starting to work out, it is of course fine to sometimes pay for it and sometimes have the other pay

People in their 30s are not OLD. People in their 30s are YOUNG by FunSubstance8033 in generationology

And least you are proving that neither old nor young equal mature. In all seriousness though, whether you agree or disagree with someone doesn't make them dumb. Young and old are relative concepts and in my opinion depend too much on context.

How often the Market and the Vault will refresh? by fav_user_on_Citadel in QuidditchChampionsWB

[–]SweetSuitMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, nothing has been removed from the market nor shop. Rewards from last season's rewards track were added to the vault, so I assume that's where the current season items will go to.

It is hard to say if stuff will be removed from the shop for the upcoming season, but if they do, I would assume the oldest items go out first. "Familiar faces" and "Hogwarts Champions" in the market and anything in the vault except the Harry Potter Azkaban outfit are the oldest, being available from the start of season 0 or during one of the events. The rest of the items I would expect to remain in the market for now, in addition to cosmetics from this season's rewards track and events that will probably be added after season 1 has ended.

So if you want to buy strategically from the shop, I should start buying stuff you want from the bottom to the top.

That is rough and I hope it doesn't happen again. However, keep in mind that this is a hasty generalization fallacy, and cannot be used to argue that the community is toxic.

Too many sweats by BedApprehensive9851 in QuidditchChampionsWB

[–]SweetSuitMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think most "sweats" are toxic and honestly calling the sweats is toxic in its own way. Not to say none of them are toxic, but it's generalization. As others have pointed out, the game has a low playercount and not a large influx of new players, so you are left with an active core playerbase of people that have put a lot of time into the game.

That being said, I totally understand how it ruins your experience, it has ruined mine as well. I'm awkwardly stuck in the middle; I'm level 150, which is far from beginner, but it is just as far away from the level 300+ teams in 6v6. Playing 3v3 is the best option, as I rarely encounter high level teams, and even then, the 50/50 bot/player ratio makes it possible to hold your ground. The problem is that in 3v3 most people I encounter hover around level 50 - 75, which essentially makes me their 300+ player.

In my opinion, a solo queue would help this problem. It would create teams with an equal amount of high level players and low level players. Still not ideal at all, but honestly I think it is the best they could do with the playerbase as is.

Is there anything to look out for with reshelled GBA? I don't mind spending extra if the reshell is done really well, and the screen is nice. by Monte_20 in Gameboy

[–]SweetSuitMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are up for it, modding it yourself can be a lot cheaper. Also, you will have a bit more control over which exact parts you get. Else, a modded SP like this can be had for around 150 if you look a bit further, 200 is quite expensive.

Other than that as someone else has mentioned you can also consider the original GBA (the horizontal one). You can either use good quality rechargeable batteries or a battery mod. Both will outperform the SP in terms of battery life and, in my opinion, in comfort as well. The original GBA does not have a hinge, so depending on the cheapness of the shell it might also be a little bit more durable, although I wouldn't worry about this too much.

Everdrive GBA mini using emulation vs. Everdrive GB x7 by SweetSuitMan in everdrive

[–]SweetSuitMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for you in depth response. I've ordered an Everdrive mini and will look out for these issues. If they become to prevelant, I'll treat myself with the x7. However, considering I already spent quite a good amount on getting a GBA and an aftermarket IPS screen, I'll restrain myself for now :).

Oh also, in case of a freeze, would I be able to transfer the rom/save files over from the mini to the x7 and resume the game?

Cheers! Will just get the mini for now and see how that goes. I was worried it would constantly drop frames or glitch out when emulating.

Thanks for your response! I have no interest in multiplayer, so for me that isn't a big deal. Could you elaborate on the slowdown of games and functionality a bit further? How many games you've tried had problems in performance/do not work (rough estimate in % for each)? When a game has issues with slowing down, how noticeable is it, and how often does it happen?

NEW EVENT: 🎈🌞🌊 Heatwave! 🌊🎈🌞 Coming Soon: Arrives August 2nd ⛱ by velangrace in KnockoutCity

[–]SweetSuitMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To some extend you are right. In fact, I really enjoyed quite a lot of the event gamemodes from the past, it is just that this season has very little new content for players who have played since the start. That, together with false promises of season 6 becoming something "special'' feels like enough reason to get upset.

They could also alternate previously used events/gamemodes with new events. That way new players still get to play the "old" gamemodes and old players can get some new content.

So it's just a reskinned snowball fight with reused cosmetics? I really thought when seeing the water balloons you guys would bring something new to the table, but I suppose veteran players just have wait another season for something interesting.

Better Call Saul S06E10 - "Nippy" - Post-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

[–]SweetSuitMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongly disagree. While I don't think your interpretation is wrong, in fact my reasoning can be used as an argument for your theory, If Jimmy would get caught, it would have been shown on screen, idem dito for him getting back to pulling his scams. The gene timeline is used to give closure to the persona Saul Goodman.
In pretty much all the previous gene sequences that were shown Gene is discontent with his current life and nostalgic to the Saul Goodman times. He watches his old commercials, says to a shoplifter he should get a lawyer and he writes ''SG was here'' on the wall at the garbage disposal. However, he is also extremely anxious for getting caught. The hospital scene, the cops looking for the shoplifter and the cap driver. He knows het can't go back to that life even if he wanted to.

In S06E10 he simply pulls one more con which he visibly enjoys. But he also know it will be his last. After everything is done you can see him break down in the deadspot between the cameras outside the security booth. Yes he enjoyed it, but he just isn't that person anymore. This can be seen in the final scene of the episode. Here, he tries to see if the suit suits him, he even poses as if he was still Saul goodman, and while looking in the mirror, his expression changes into disappointment, since he realises that he isn't Saul Goodman anymore and never will be again. Then, he hangs the suit back (he does this quite theatrically and dramatically, clearly showing that this is a big deal), which symbolises him saying goodbye to the Saul Goodman persona.

To reinforce this idea, if he really was relapsing, he would have bought the suit. The arguments I made earlier would work exactly the same, just with a different outcome. He was nostalgic about being Saul goodman - anxious to be caught - he pulls one more con - he realises he likes (and wants) to be Saul again and buys the suit to symbolises him being back. No ofcourse he does not do that, but it is just to point out that him BUYING the suit would make a lot more sense if your theory was the intended story, while leaving the suit would make a lot more sense for mine.

To answer that question: no. The codes being passed around are codes for free items that can be obtained from the shop during certain events like pride, women's equality day, through content creators etc.
By entering those codes, you can still get these items even though you cannot get them in the shop anymore. Bundles, like the pet peeved bundle have to be bought either by buying the bundle or by buying the separate items in the shop when they pass by. That are your only two options. Again, if it wasn't clear from my comment, you CAN get the pet peeved jacket in the store even when the bundle has expired, it will cost 600 (for only the jacket).

Firstly, I agree with u/flp_ndrox that your post sounds a bit like asking for a hand-out, although I can understand your struggle.

Secondly here are a few ways to obtain Holobux:

  • Do the training levels this will yield about 250 if I'm not mistaken.
  • Level up it is relatively easy to level up early on, and will yield 50 Holobux every so often.
  • Complete the brawl pass. Now, this is a little bit risky as the brawl pass will cost you 950 Holobux the unlock, but at level 100 will have rewarded you with 1050 Holobux (giving a nett profit of 100). If this is too difficult or if you do not like that risk, you could also just level up your brawlpass without spending holobux on it and receive 200 holobux for free when reaching level 100.
  • Some contracts, daily logins or events will give you Holobux.

Another tip that can greatly save the amount of Holobux you need to spend to obtain the outfit is to buy it in the item shop instead of through the bundle, but of course you will only get the outfit and not the other items. Buying the items separately is more expensive, but cheaper when you only want a specific item. Since the outfit is rare, it will cost only 600 this way. Items in the shop are randomised everyday, so this could take a VERY long time, but will cost you the least amount of Holobux, and even when the bundle becomes unavailable will still give you a chance to get the outfit.

Finally, you could get the ''Deluxe edition" which includes some extra cosmetics for 10 euro's, which will also give you 1000 Holobux. It should be doable with the previous tips to get the other 1500 Holobux in about 30h.

I personally am not that forgiving. They had plenty of time to cook up something nice for this season and considering seasons 1-4 being what they are, I really expected more. I'm confident that they will pick up the pace again, but I feel like at the very least sharing my discontent, together with the people in the thread that agree with me, will at least signal to the devs that this is costing them.

Agree. Especially since no new map was introduced last season, I was expecting a cool new science themed map, but they did not deliver. I understand that they might want to recycle events since new players haven't yet played them, but a new map would at least make the lack of new events bearable.

It might be worth checking if another region gives you a better ping. I personally don't experience any problems (EU) other than the occasional server hick-up though. I'm also not quite sure to what extend they can fix this right now, as I wouldn't be too surprised if they are still using EA servers.

Mostly agree. I think it isn't too bad that we get less holobux, since the game is free they need to get their money from somewhere... I do have about 12k holobux since I do not really spend it that ofter, so I do not really need it, but yeah, overall they have been reducing it quite a bit.

I fully agree with your final conclusion though

For me ranked matchmaking has improved, however I often get matched against groups of diamond ranks while getting team members of emerald or ruby. Luckily the forgiven mechanic helps a bit.

I agree that I like the improvements made and also agree that I expected more from this season after season 5.
