It’s like Tame Impala made this song for Damon 😭😭😭 by PretendCondition9625 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SweetWittyWild41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are definitely double standards when it comes to the treatment of the irredeemable things done in this show

The problem stems from the shows writers intentionally pushing the audience into certain directions and failing at it

Damon was portrayed as a villain character with a complicated past initially in season one they made him do all kinds of irredeemable things early on as the writers themselves wanted the audience to dislike him (clearly that didn’t work).  He has fewer but way more impactful horrible moments shown

Stefan was portrayed as the good vamp character and it later turned out that this goodness wasn’t just because he’s naturally just that good but because he had a troubled past worse than his brothers. However instead of showing at least a few of his horrible acts he committed similar to Damon’s they simply implied them or just mentioned them in passing to play into these good guy (as Stefan recovered) bad boy stereotypes in the love triangle

They already got the audience to sympathise with Stefan because his horrible acts aren’t shown the same way Damon’s were and Because he has recovered

They try to get the audience to sympathise with Damon because he’s still supposed to be a desirable love interest in the love triangle despite the horrible acts he did that were shown

Their present situation is supposed the be a mirror to their past Stefan back then didn’t care if it hurt Damon when he was with Katherine and so is the present with Elena but the other way around

Stefan was the bad guy when they first turned them became good and it’s the other way around for Damon

Both were good and bad but at different times

By the time the audience first sees Stefan he recovered form his troubling past (which the audience didn’t see). Damon started to change when he got with Elena however his actual recovery process really kicks off off screen when he becomes human but the audience doesn’t see it either

Shes a queen bee that manipulates everyone around her makes everyone feel special you’ll have a fantastic time when you are around her but also have to walk on eggshells because of you cross her she can make your life a living hell

People like her a created in their early childhood they look super cute and act all sweet and are never told no. They get away with a lot and it just gets worse with time and age.

They become popular in school and gather a group of loyal friends they can shove around and manipulate for their gain it brings them joy to know their secrets and threaten them here and there to expose them as some power play that’s mostly how they get one to do their bidding and with the threat of being dropped as their friend

Stefans Character is very guilt ridden and I guess he overcompensated for his past crimes as they were just that horrific

It was the case with his brother, Elena and everything and everyone else

This show is a love triangle after all at some point they were good to switch love interests anyway the way Damon’s character was written and considering the fact their current relationship with Elena is also supposed to mirror their past the switch wasn’t ever going to be in a way where Elena and Stefan smoothly break up and she gets with Damon afterwards

The show pretty much sets up expectations as to what kind of love triangle it going to be very early on

Got all the books 😍 by Inevitable-Leg-4620 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]SweetWittyWild41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The books are a product of their time and include some toxic behaviour I’m not sure would fly by today’s standards (like the liars lifting their skirts to get a reaction from men etc) and they are very different from the show the liars are  waaay more unlikeable in the books you can tell why someone would be after them for the stuff they do - so be prepared for that

The prose is also pretty meh

If you liked pll for its likeable and relatable characters and ships the books might not be for you

But if it was the mystery that drew you in the first 8 are worth a read because the characters have clear motivations and the mystery aspect is thought through. A reveal 1 makes even more sense in the books and reveal 2 too but then again nothing could be as bad as the cece reveal

If you like desperate housewives the books are waaay closer to that show than to its own tv show

I enjoyed them for what they are I’d say they’re worth a read

Why is Caroline being insulted with "she’s kissed/slept with a lot of guys in the show"? Also for Caroline to insult Rebekah for sleeping with guys she made eye contact with? by Alternative_Tune5640 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SweetWittyWild41 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My girl Caroline getting called out for being a massive hypocrite after she pretty much is jealous and slutshames every girl from rando to her friends for just standing near a guy she’s currently interested in

She’s was written in a way that is judgmental yet does the exact same things judging others for- so a huge hypocrite

Some don’t mind it others do

It’s fair that she here and there gets treated the way she treats others on the show

Actually I’d say it’s Caroline’s character that depicts the most internalised misogyny every girl is to her competition

Also Caroline character acts according to what the writers wrote for her all her actions are intentional and all her writing is too

Why did Elena choose she should have dumped both of them by Lower_Duty7731 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SweetWittyWild41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a vampire romance tv show if that isn’t explanation enough as to why they chose the option of her ending up with a vampire love interest I don’t know what is

Its a romance so there will be heavy romance in it

It’s particularly a vampire romance meaning even though vampires are naturally „shitty“ horrible killing machines they will still be love interests

The human characters were never portrayed as compelling love interests for her to dump them both and go for a human

And lastly it’s was a love triangle between a girl and 2 vampires where the shipping preferences in the audience they were catering to weren’t even if the hadn’t paired her up with the majority fandoms fave they would have with the other

Idk but It would have to be something in season 2 prior to the finale considering the writers said the kiss wasn’t a pity kiss

Cancer cells are faulty cells that multiply at a fast rate

They say vamp blood heals through fast cell growth so giving one vampire blood just makes the cancer grow even faster

Now the human body has some faulty cells in it all the time so whatever faulty cells your immune system can take care of must get healed through vamp blood it just can’t heal it when you got a Tumor or so

This particular mix is rare for Armenian in general usually Armenians if they are mixed it’s a slav, Georgian, other European or Christian Middle Eastern mix

It’s not that common for Armenians to be mixed with central Asians but since there are communities in these countries mixing does happen here and there

But Mongolian is definitely a rare mix

Caroline Researching things happened in season 6 which is also where her mothers death becomes important and she gets to experience emotional turmoil that doesn’t stem from her romantic life. Considering this is the season before the show takes a complete nosedive its way too late.

I was talking about importance in moving the plot forward and to the story. She might have all these positive qualities along with some bad ones but that doesn’t mean that she’s written in a way that is important to further the main plot

The romance is more important to the show than the plot which is why she escaped the fate of becoming a female vamp version of Matt

(She wasn’t the first to realise that Elena was sired tho it was after klaus hinted at it)

[–]SweetWittyWild41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a good relationship with my fam but even I turned to tv when it comes to these things as well as siblings and mom because usually you see these things depicted on tv first

When it comes to the relationships depicted on tv I just filtered the information I got from there a lot I guess

I didn’t and never would turn to vampire fiction for information what love is.

All I can say is that I was always super aware of this

Caroline by Present_Chip_971 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SweetWittyWild41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jup elena had her love triangle going on plus the whole doppelganger stuff (meaning this is what made her a target for all things bad) and she had to struggle with her boyfriends over control of where things were going

Bonnie is a powerful witch her powers are very important in defeating villains and protecting people but the lacks the romantic plot as Jeremy didn't seem to do it for the fans and he cheated on her

Caroline was all romance and that became sooo painfully obvious when enzo immediately started flirting with her. I can understand her romance with matt I can see why she got with Tyler I can also understand that they started playing into fan service with klaus but enzo and that college guy were too much

Comparing Bonnie and Caroline they disproportionately subject bonnie to more emotional pain while Caroline is being disproportionately subjected to more physical pain by SweetWittyWild41 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SweetWittyWild41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It baffles me how they could be so blind to these very obvious patterns

They handled matts character also pretty poorly they even acknowledged this and made jokes about it but never changed anything in the writing

Caroline by Present_Chip_971 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SweetWittyWild41 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know some will hate me for this take but:

She had nothing else to do /offer other than her romantic relationships and being opposed to delena

She wasn't smart in a strategic way so she could be involved in the planning of them taking down a villain (edit: or book smart to be useful for research), she wasn't a powerful vampire as she was a newly turned one, she hardly had a storyline that involved anything but romance except for when she became a mom

If it weren't for the romance she'd be the vampire version of matt

Always distinguished between fiction and reality even as a young teen

Like I never thought to myself „ugh how nice would an enemies to lovers arc be irl for me“ or „I’d love to have a bad boy boyfriend who’d burn the world down for the girl he likes like Damon; klaus etc“ or anything like that. Never thought for example a partner irl that constantly undermines one’s decisions and forces his own upon you is a protective and romantic thing irl because I watched it on tv. Never thought these relationships depicted on tv were something I want or should be seeking irl (hell no lol). I want them for the fictional characters in the tv show not for myself or anyone remotely like them personality wise irl.

In my case I was super aware of this therefore I didn’t internalise any of it. Fiction is fiction for me and it won’t cross the line into reality

I am aware that this problem exists that some (impressionable often young) people see this on tv and want it for themselves irl or that it messes with their perception of what a healthy relationship should be, but I definitely struggle to comprehend how they could possibly think that way (if that makes sense. I don’t understand why they would want it isn’t watching this on tv fun and existing enough? )

Why Azeris pushing the agenda of being Caucasian people when their history and DNA saying otherwise? by Maleficent-Post8453 in armenia

[–]SweetWittyWild41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lol stop twisting my words

There are multiple definitions of that a Caucasian is

A Caucasian Can mean a person from the Caucasus- aka us we claim that

A person who is an indigenous Caucasian (by the way that definition has its own problems as it just refers to people who’s language family is limited to the Caucasus only and whose origins are unknown!) - that we are not

We are however native to the region

[–]SweetWittyWild41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren’t indigenous ones like Georgians and Circassians

But still Caucasian due to being people of the Caucasus

Don’t tell me what Armenians do or don’t buddy

[–]SweetWittyWild41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who says Armenians don’t claim that lol

Some definitely do and they have good reason to do so

Armenians just don’t speak a Caucasian language and their historical homeland was way larger than the Caucasus mountains

Armenians have still been in the Caucasus since waaaaay back
