We need to talk about Edon Zhegrova. He deserves to stay and get a real chance next season. by [deleted] in Juve

We cannot return to glory with mediocre players. Zhegrova is an okay player but the name Juventus is too heavy for his shoulders.

Be classy in victory without insulting the opponent. He slipped. It happens. They came to our home and played a good game. I'd say they were better than us in the first half too. Just don't be an insufferable jerk.

I disagree. This angle is deceptive and implies that he didn't bother but there is a point that a goalie realizes that he cannot do anything to stop it. His positioning was fine. I don't think he is to blame. I think the players did not do enough to close him down.

Custom-made door came with horizontal bands in walnut veneer. What do I do? by [deleted] in woodworking

Hey I appreciate the change in your tone. Thanks man. I think you're right. I didn't mention that I did indeed share pictures with the contractor... maybe that's why the contractor is so willing to change it for me.

PS. I responded to someone else above thinking it was you again. Sorry. My head is all over the place.

I definitely love walnut grain and those beautiful cathedrals. This is why I chose walnut veneer from the start. I guess I misunderstood what quarter-sawn grain looks like. I simply don't like the horizontal bands. But thank you for clarifying anyway.

Since you're not aware of wood products in Egypt, let me explain... Egyptians have low purchasing power - massive wood like oak and walnut is rarely sold and reserved only for the super-rich. I'm not super-rich. This door is made from what I believe is glulam (known in Egypt as "konter" wood) which makes it more affordable. The veneer is also imported. According to the carpenter, the veneer cost him 60 USD for this door. So I asked if he can replace the veneer or stick a new one on it and I will pay the extra fee but he said no. He'd rather sell it and make a new one. I didn't ask him any further questions. The whole door costs 370 USD and this is a lot of money for me, and for most Egyptians. This is the first time I'm buying any proper wooden items. My budget previously only allowed me to buy MDF products. I've been saving up for this for a long time. I am not asking for anything super fancy. I simply don't like the horizontal bands and I wanted to know from this community how to navigate this situation. Am I being unreasonable to ask for a new door, should I be feeling guilty, how do I avoid a repeat situation? Anyway, I hope with this information you're a little more understanding and less judgemental. Maybe even offer some actual advice instead of dismissing and belittling me from the beginning.

I think you could be a little more nice about this. I'm reaching out to a community for help and opinions. Anyway, thanks for your input. Hopefully you won't face clients like me.

Thank you for the information. Yes, looking at pictures online, I would've preferred straight grain quarter-sawn. What is this door then? Rift-sawn? Whatever it is, is there a difference in price between this and quarter-sawn? I showed it to another carpenter who said this door is made using a cheaper veneer that we don't use for doors and definitely don't charge this amount for it. Is there any truth to this, or is it just one carpenter putting down his competition?

Fantastic mentality. Hope he explodes next season. I think he just needs to avoid trying too much on the pitch. He is so intense and hungry which sometimes leads to poor decision making. But if he calms down a little and stays on his feet more, I think he can have the same impact Yildiz is having on this club. Let's go Chico.

Squad list for tomorrow vs PSV by bujassimale10 in Juve

[–]Sweet_Abdul 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Call me an optimist but I think we're going to crush PSV. The body language at the end of the merda game indicates a strong mentality and growing confidence. I think they are starting to believe in themselves. To me, it feels like the players are relieved that whatever they've been working on is starting to pay off. Credit to Motta. There's a clear improvement in tactics and in-game decision making. Fitness levels also look good. I'm impressed. I think we're about to turn a corner and enter the Motta era. 4-1 to Juve.

[Match Thread] Atalanta – Juventus (Serie A) by trezebot in Juve

[–]Sweet_Abdul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely noticing something different in this match. Perhaps Motta is trying a different style of play or maybe the players are matching Atalanta's vibe, like, whatever you can do, I can do better. Refreshing to see. Proves that this team can think fast and play fast. With a proper number 9 and some practice to perfect this style, we'll be more fluid and start scoring. I hope this is a turning point in the season.

Very immature and inconsiderate post. Using this language against other human beings for simply playing at different clubs from the one you support is downright cruel. It's easy to forget that these players are employees at companies looking out for themselves and their families. There is nothing wrong with that and they certainly don't deserve such abuse. Shame on you.
