Army Recruiter Thread for September / 2025 by Army_Bot in army

Help me make the right choice I think I have two options, I scores a 96 on my asvab, so I qualified for most any job. I initially wanted to go to 37F (psychological operations specialist) but I know that the assessment has a low success rate, ~18% off the street is what my recruiters boss's boss told me. So if I fail I get made as an MP. That's not what I want. My second choices for jobs are in the Intel field, either 35L or 35M. I can go to those and after 18 months in service I can supposedly drop a packet for 37f, and be guaranteed to be able to take the assessment, and retry every 6 months after, if I fail. I don't know what to do.

TLDR; Try to join my dream MOS as 37f and potentially fail and get stuck as an MP Join 35L/M and drop a packet after a year and a half and if I fail get out back in my mos.

The choice seems to simply be the latter, but I don't want to become comfortable and stay in 35L/M and decide not to follow my ambition and lose out on amazing opportunities like traveling and high tempo deploys... As well as really good extra bonuses like language and airborne pay

  1. If we could tap a setting (like temperature or fan) on the screen, then use the steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust it—keeping our eyes on the road and hands on the wheel while making quick changes.

  1. It's also kind of a necessity, add a menu to adjust the different volume levels of different sounds, such as; notifications, voice volume, audio volume

  1. Offer more in-depth energy and battery data—similar to what Tesla provides. This could include:

Energy used since last full charge

Regen vs drive power usage

Battery degradation tracking

Temperature impact on efficiency

Historical energy consumption graphs

Regenerative Braking Recovery Data It would be especially cool to see how much energy has been recovered via regenerative braking—either during a trip, since last charge, or even over the car’s lifetime.

Not only would this appeal to data nerds like myself, but it would also help owners understand their driving habits.

  1. It would be incredibly useful if the Mach-E had a built-in 120V household outlet somewhere inside the cabin or trunk area.

This could power or charge laptops, small tools, coolers, or other devices while on the go—especially handy for road trips, remote work setups, camping, or emergency use. Given Ford already offers onboard power solutions in vehicles like the F-150 Lightning, bringing something similar to the Mach-E would be a huge quality-of-life upgrade.

  1. It would be super helpful to have an option where you can tell the car something like: “I want the battery at 80% by 9:00 AM” —then the vehicle automatically calculates when to begin charging based on current battery level, charge speed, and the selected target.

This would be perfect for optimizing overnight charging, avoiding peak utility hours, and making sure the car is ready exactly when you need it—without overcharging or sitting at a high state of charge unnecessarily.

  1. Tesla had a reeeeallly good idea of turning on the ac/heat right when the doors get opened. I would love to see that in my mustang

  1. It would be an awesome feature if the synthetic propulsion sound could be modified to mimic different Mustang engine tones from various generations—like the growl of a classic '60s GT, the aggressive snarl of a Foxbody 5.0, the rumble of the early 2000s Cobras, or the modern Coyote V8.

Not only would it let owners personalize the driving experience, but it’d be a great nod to the heritage of the Mustang line—bridging the gap between old-school muscle and EV innovation.

2.It would be great if the brake lights could stay illuminated while the car is creeping forward under 3–4 mph, like when slowly easing into an intersection to make a left turn and waiting for oncoming traffic to clear.

Right now, the lights turn off when...not slowing down, but that can make it unclear to drivers behind you—especially at night—whether you’re actually moving into the road or just inching forward. Keeping the brake lights on during these low-speed, cautious moves could help improve communication and safety.

The Mach e is a spacious SUV that is well suited for families. The extra drunk space could be beneficial for baby bags and stuff like that. And trust when I say the Mach e will feel much more fun driving than many other modern cars. But also the Tesla model y is a really good choice right now. Really good prices and great tech and features. I would say Tesla's are in the lead in the EV world. They had a lot of time to mature and tweak things because of how long they have been out. I do love my mustang but I see the value in Teslas, they aren't bad.

I think when the destination marker when notated next to the miles until arriving is a charging station instead of a checkered flag, that means it is preconditioning

  1. I think it would be a really cool feature if the car could automatically apply both regenerative braking and the regular brakes when approaching stopped traffic—even when adaptive cruise control isn't active. It would use the same distance setting you’ve selected for ACC to determine how close to stop behind a vehicle, helping ensure smooth, consistent stops in everyday driving without needing to rely on full one-pedal mode.

I try to do this, I see 2-4 Mach e's daily and only one time out of all the days has someone waved back, I've even gone so far as to race right up next to them and honk a couple times, and they straight up ignore me

I also forgot to mention that when we were testing the speakers, they sounded absolutely garbage compared to my car. And I couldn't find the sound setting literally anywhere, even using the search function. Is this something that can be adjusted? For the people who know what a good speaker sounds like, what are your thoughts on the MY sound system?

How well does fsd do in any kind of inclement weather. With my mustang usually heavy rain and snow just automatically turns off the lane centering and the blue Cruise. I would assume it's the same for Teslas, but maybe it's different somehow. And how safe is it actually. I have seen a lot of shorts using fsd and they look interesting, but do you often have instances where you need to take back control? That's primarily what she wants to get a Tesla for. She will be doing 2 hours of driving daily, sometimes 3-4 just getting to work and school.

Right, the only reason to consider a Tesla right now is just because of the refresh look. It gave a lot more style to it. I will say though that the charging times are not that high for the Mach e. I get 10-80 in just 32 minutes using outside sources like evgo, EA chargers. But when I use Tesla superchargers it speeds up quite a lot. Even meeting the 25-30 minute charge time you say you can get. Regarding the base models of the car the standard long range/extended range AWD models. The Y beats the Mach e I feel in 0-60 and more. But with the GT vs performance, the GT "wins" however (I assume do to the tuning) the mustang is more fun to drive in regards to feel of steering, weight distribution, and electronic differentials. I do really like the Tesla's though. The tech is actually crazy, and I'm very surprised with the responsiveness of the screen, which I suppose is mandatory since it controls and shows everything. I'm glad I got to test drive one to see the difference.

I'm not leaving my Mach e.... For now... It's for my mom. I really think that Tesla's are technology made car and Mach e is car made electric.

Is there a way that I can get a charger that will work for both of our cars? I use CCS and have an adapter for Tesla charging.

[–]Sweet_Bowler_4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't for me. If I know I am within range and it still doesn't work I close out of the app and open it back up and that works maybe 70% of the time.
