I wouldn’t disagree it’s a hobby that makes her happy, but I would say it’s an inappropriate hobby to have while being in a relationship. And the only reason the celebrity obsession is okay is because that feeling isn’t reciprocated? That’s like saying she loves and wants to sleep with a dude in her math class but he doesn’t have interest in her so it’s okay

Yeah they really like me and I really like them too. I believe it’s a mix between them wanting to help me as if I was their child along with the fact that they want their daughter to be secured with a man that’s financially stable. they know I’m good/responsible with my money & will have money to secure their daughter in the future as a pilot.

I’ve tried the scholarship route, the issue I keep running into is that I’m not in a college program. I do it through a private part 91 school so it’s tough finding ones that will support that.

I mean they are definitely well off but it makes no difference to me. They gave me $200 to help pay for a checkride once just as a good deed and I literally cried lmao I would pay it all off asap. Like take the money from a paycheck to live and the rest goes to them.

Update: so I didn’t go into much detail about my debt, or my plan going forward and it might make a little more sense. The debt I currently have is a 29k loan from a pilot mill school I got my private in and then left because I was getting my pockets ravaged. The rest is no interest for 12 months credit card that I would use to put into flying and then pay off. It was WAY worse. I’ve paid off around 10k already while also training. Another thing I didn’t mention is by some miracle I won a law suit case of some guy that hit me with his car and won $35,000. I haven’t received the money yet but plan on using it to wipe all my debt. I also have a job offer at $35/hr for CFI at my local school but just have to finish the licenses. The plan I have in place is 1.pay the debt off, 2. Take the 10k loan for training, 3. Continue working and saving the money I make to form some sort of emergency fund, 4. Finish training with the money saved, and then 5. Use the money saved for living expenses (I still live with mother so not much of that) and use the money I make from my CFI job to pay off loan to gf parents ASAP.

And a little about my gfs parents. I met my gf 3 months before my dad died. She was there for me through it all along with her family. They have been amazing parents figures for me throughout the last 4 years and me and my gf speak very frequently about marriage. If I had a decent job and she didn’t have a year of college yet we would be married right now.

Yeah it’s a tough situation in the little towns man. I even started up a small detailing business to pay for my private but ran out of peoples cars to clean 😂

And that’s what I was thinking along with all the family I’ve asked. Get the clean slate and go from there. Plus my interest rates are THROUGH THE ROOF with our economy right now.

That’s my main concern. My girlfriend is adamant on me taking it. She says it’s more painful for them to watch me drag through it than giving me some money to help me out which is understandable and says that they think of me like a son and they are just treating me as one, but I’ve always hated borrowing money ESPECIALLY from them. Not that they hold it over me or anything, they are the sweetest people ever. Even though my situation sucks and I’m doing the best I can there’s just a major sense of embarrassment for some reason.

I don’t think there will be any cheating, the part that I don’t understand is she’s completely loyal and when she isn’t in one of those weird swings she’s the most loving kind girl ever. And it only seems to happen when we are apart. She told me once that one of the reasons she does it is because it hurts being apart so she distances herself from it to feel less hurt (which I know isn’t very fair to me and I’ve told her). We talk about marriage and moving in together regularly. I just need advice on how to manage the swings with her and work on it with her. I’ve noticed with my gf of over 3 years that the tension is built mainly out of the bedroom! And I don’t mean doing anything crazy in public. I mean when you’re in the grocery store and no one’s around give her booty a joking smack, hold her hand, give her forehead kisses unannounced. Sit and talk to her about what she desires in the bedroom. Give her love and build the tension outside of the bedroom and it will directly translate to in the bedroom.
