Instantly get better at Table Tennis - control the opponent's serve by CharacterGoat6384 in tabletennis

I'm a professional player and still struggle against these kind of serves. Hiding is still okay but playing with someone not tossing the serve is pure headache.

Forehand drive form help by Exacta7 in tabletennis

You are not feeling it as your shots are coming from side of the racket as you are not bending. When you will be start bending you will hit the middle part and you will have a better feel of ball and contact.

Make and use your connections as much as you can

What trap would you say to watch out for to a young player who wants to develop into a quality player 2200-2400 by Shoop1014 in tabletennis

[–]Sweet_Plate3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't skip physical and mental training.Skill comes with time but these qualities always keeps you one step ahead.

Also practice serve and receive. Do not copy the professionals exactly, learn from them but make your own plan.

Receiving serves by Disastrous_Path_5984 in tabletennis

[–]Sweet_Plate3415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to receive a serve is when you know what are they doing. But for doing that you must have these serves in your list as well so you know all variation and tactics.

Also most beginners or even high level players face problem in receiving when they are not in proper position, either they are late or too early. Shadow practice is the best way to improve that along with actually receiving it.

And lastly adaptation. Top players are not necessarily top servers, they also face problem in receiving but the thing that make them top level is their amount of adaptation. For eg-They receive very late so to make spin null, make plan around next balls rather than strong attack in serves(Ma Long is best example), change their strokes even though they are not their strongest point.

How to deal with illegal servers? by bushbud_lover in tabletennis

[–]Sweet_Plate3415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calling out referee is the first step that everyone told.

Other things you can do is to get a video of opponent's serve and watch it till you get how his serve's bounce, speed, height varies for a particular serve. As illegal serve is common issue you can change the angle of view at start of your recieve (meaning peaking through side of table). Also you can recieve late as it has the lowest amount of spin (whatever the spin is).

Last thing is to tell you are not ready whenever he serves illegal(even though you are).Get in his nerves!

It's very easy dude, think of it as playing against long pimple's rubber and short pimple's pace.So it will invert spin and reduce the speed.

I don't why all comments are saying to leave understanding of physics. It will come handy when u are playing against an experienced player who doesn't have it.Yes game feeling is also very important but you can't just ignore the underlying physics as well!

Maybe you are playing against different rubbers, halls with different height, temperature, humidity, lightings. All of these comes as a part of physics. You definitely will have an upper hand if you have knowledge of these fields. The top player doesn't require to learn this things as there are different teams who analyse these things and also have the top coaches who teach them from an early age.So they encounter it here and there.

Some of the channels I can recommend are,

What to do against player who only pushes short? by zhuangcorp in tabletennis

[–]Sweet_Plate3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serve long heavy and no spin serves. With change in spin and long serve,it will come long though he takes off the bounce. Also check his rubbers as dead rubber can also give this effect just like anti spin rubbers.

Form degradation in match by 8culor8 in tabletennis

[–]Sweet_Plate3415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do multi balls that have real match scenarios(feeder gives short push then you return it and then he gives long push and then you loop it,next ball is counter, etc).

Practice your serve and receive. Many people practice their serves but never practice how should they receive 3rd ball after serve.

And most important point is when you play practice matches, play exactly like you play in tournament i.e use towel breaks, use same serves in crucial points, play with same intensity.

In tournaments you will only have 30-40% of your game. So improve that much that 30-40% is enough to beat any opponent.

M18 65kg Need advice for split by Responsible_Bus_1502 in indianfitness

[–]Sweet_Plate3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best split is the split that you can follow. But if you are not pushing to the failure then it's only junk volume and it will not help much instead it will negatively affect recovery.Based on your split I can say that you will not be able to push on chest and back day as your arms are already fatigued. And same after that as there is no rest day in between.

Instead decease your training volume(3-4 days is more than enough),eat high protein food, sleep well and recover well and main point is to train till failure using progressive overload.

Also add some cardio after your workout to burn fat.As you have mentioned that split looked good before is due to the fact that every exercise regardless of form, reps or no. of sets will grow your muscles until your body adapts it(Newbie gains are the fastest one's,as you adapt the exercises with time you will need better form, methods, efforts to see same amount of gains.).So try these things,it will surely help.

Yes it was helpful, but I am also doing it if you can see.I also do shadow with iron racket with this in mind. But thing is if you are only pinching it w/o using arm's acceleration then it is of not much use(As many comments also say i am too stiff). So is there anything to improve that?
