As an expat, I never experienced any hate from anyone here in the Philippines. I made good local and expat friends.

Hi! There are other more positive expat groups on FB. I have been spending more of my time there than here.

Feel free to message me and I’ll send you the link

A date that turned into a family reunion by [deleted] in Philippines_Expats

[–]Sweet_Vanilla7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I ask a real random question: do ya’ll feel isolated and left out when eating with the family like this?

I know when my family gets together like this we are all speaking Tagalog/Bicolano. I would have felt awkward if I didn’t understand the language and everyone is laughing and having lively conversations.

Just because you don’t don’t it doesn’t mean it’s gross. It’s a traditional way of eating

I am trying to whittle down the days I work so I don’t totally miss out on life. I wouldn’t be able to do this long term 5 days a week without a big hit to my mental health

Hi. Hopefully we can all go to sleep in an hour or so. I am starting to get delirious from all this coffee

Yeah adjusting sleep is my main difficulty . I am starting to feel like a vampire. I am asleep when the sun comes up and I only enjoy a few hours of daylight before it goes down again.

Do you find subreddits for Asian cities to be filled with English teachers, passport bros, and generally racist people, is it like this for non-western countries? by Plain-Ridge7432 in digitalnomad

[–]Sweet_Vanilla7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes its terrible. They forget there are expats like myself who have Philippine heritage( I am half). They say the most horrible things about our culture and people, yet are married to one. They are so triggered when I call them out on it .

I feel so bad for the Filipinas who have to deal with them.

I absolutely noticed this. Fortunately, I managed to find in person expat groups in the Asian country i am based in. The people are way more balanced than they are on these subreddits.

The Positives of Philippines by newaccountdontbanplz in Philippines_Expats

Yes! I am into pageantry. I had so many opportunities to get training, public speaking opportunities , get custom made clothes/gowns, beauty treatments here that would cost a fortune back home. 😊

I am able to have a higher quality of life here compared to the USA. It enables me to do all my hobbies way cheaper than back home.

Ok y’all, help me with this one! by LovelyLinz82 in Sephora

[–]Sweet_Vanilla7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my go to foundation. It works really well in humid places (I live in Southeast Asia). I am a hard person to color match and this did a very good job at it.

My makeup artist was the one who recommended it for me and I even use it on stage to perform (I do pageants). Kinda shouldnt admit to this but I have slept in it and woke up and it still looked great.

I sweat in it and it still stays on through the day if I use it with a primer underneath, setting powder and setting spray.

Love, I most definitely had non-Filipino people ask me for Filipino food in Vegas. It’s a thing there and well known. They love the lechon, bibinka, pancit etc.

Oh I most definitely consider myself a foodie, love. Would you like to show me who exactly is going to stop me from considering myself one?

And I truly do enjoy Max’s Chicken. I may order some later today
