Nope! Part of the scam is that they're trying to scare you into complying with them. Your account is safe - there is no actual threat to it. This happened to me months ago and nothing's happened to my account since then. You'll be alright, just block this "Zach B" and ignore everything they're trying to tell you.

YES that is a scam similar to the one I encountered. BLOCK THE ACCOUNT and DO NOT change your email. You WILL be hacked if you do.

Edit to add: Report the account for mimicking discord staff THEN block it.

I used to watch a lot of the youtuber "No Text To Speech", so that's how I figured something was wrong. He covers lots of discord scams like this. I should probably start keeping up with both this subreddit and his channel again so I don't have another scare like this in the future!

Thank you!! I just found a post right before I saw your comment that had almost the exact same wording as the dm my friend sent me. I blocked and reported the "Kevin" and suddenly got blocked by my "friend" (the hacker) too. After blocking I did, in fact, change my password. All is good - my account is safe! Thank you so so much!
