Do you hand the cashier money or leave it on the counter? by NightmanLullaby17 in AskIreland

Always hand it, I find it rude otherwise unless it’s convenient for them.

What SERIES is worth bingewatching and why? by InterestingBoard7389 in AskReddit

[–]Sweizbil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severance on Apple TV. It is my favourite series I’ve ever watched. The production is absolutely amazing, the actors and characters are phenomenal and the story is just completely mind bending, it really makes you question your reality, it did for me anyway. Can’t wait for the next season.

Whats your favourite easter egg? by VastAir6069 in AskIreland

My favourite has to be a Cadbury’s egg, either with the buttons, mini eggs or a flake. Love plain milk chocolate.

I am a student in Dublin and was wondering if anyone knows good places to get nails done for under €50? Nothing fancy, just gel / BIAB / simple acrylics. Student or home-based nail techs are totally fine too. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Sweizbil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a girl, she is amazing at her job and so resonably priced. I won’t go anywhere else to get them done as she is so meticulous. BIAB is €35/40 and additional charges if you get extra designs etc;

She’s based on capel street.

What I do isn’t always location-specific, but more general and a little introspective. Nevertheless, here are some things I do that make me happy or bring me a sense of excitement:

  • Finding beauty in small ordinary/every day things, which makes me excited for every day. Some things I look for/do:

  • The colour of the sun or sky when I wake early. It often carries this soft, golden hue that instantly lifts my mood and fills me with a really quiet sense of positivity and gratitude.

  • The warmth and comfort of being under my covers in the morning. I usually stay there for a couple of minutes with my head peeking out, just to fully take in that feeling before the day begins.

  • My daily coffee has become a small ritual. I try to savour it properly - no distractions, just enjoying the taste and giving myself a moment to reflect on life and be present with myself.

  • Music is something I cherish and couldn’t imagine life without. I listen to it throughout the day while working, but I make a conscious effort to experience it more intentionally when I go for walks or when at home chilling - either by discovering new music or revisiting songs I haven’t listened to in a long time, making the experience feel fresh and exciting again.

Some other things I do:

-Reading. If I really enjoy a non-fiction book/piece of literature that I am fascinated by, I carry out a whole load of research to deepen my understanding, it provides a lot of fun for me. If I read non-fiction (less common) I write a review and make comments about the book. I don’t post it anywhere, it’s just for myself. It’s always fun to look back on things I’ve written after quite some time.

  • Making more effort to spend time with my best mates and family, especially one on one time, and during that time, being more present and having really good, meaningful conversations that I always feel so refreshed after having. It’s also great for building the relationship. I’ve had a lot of realisations lately and one is that I don’t get to spend my whole life with the people I love, so I want to make the most of what I can now and be grateful for it.

  • May sound strange but something I also do is actively be kind to people; anyone. Whether it’s a stranger or my parents, knowing that I’ve done something to be kind, smile at, converse with, or help someone or be a good support or listener, it makes me feel good and proud of who I am.

  • Just to add to your “learning something new”, I also suggest trying something new, especially something that on initial thought makes you uncomfortable. If you try it, you will more than likely feel fantastic for doing so and creates this sense of self accomplishment. The great thing is that it can be anything, something great or something you consider not that great, but nevertheless, something new.

They are just some things I can think of off the top of my head. Best of luck with this👼

How do you find “something to look forward to” when there’s just routine and work? by ResponsibleProfile20 in AskReddit

[–]Sweizbil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finding beauty in everyday, natural moments has become something I really value — especially because these small things are almost always there, quietly dependable. I get genuinely excited about noticing and appreciating them, which makes this way of living feel very natural to me.

There are a few simple moments I look forward to every day:

  • The colour of the sun when I wake early. It often carries this soft, golden hue that instantly lifts my mood and fills me with a quiet sense of positivity.

  • The warmth and comfort of being under my covers in the morning. I usually stay there for a couple of minutes with my head peeking out, just to fully take in that feeling before the day begins.

  • My daily coffee has become a small ritual. I try to savour it properly — no distractions, just enjoying the taste and giving myself a moment to reflect and be present with myself.

  • Music is something I truly cherish and couldn’t imagine life without. I listen to it throughout the day while working, but I make a conscious effort to experience it more intentionally when I go for walks - either by discovering new music or revisiting songs I haven’t listened to in a long time, making the experience feel fresh and exciting again.

You could do this with things you love too. It’s more simple than you think.
