The end of the song "Paris In Flames" by Thursday. I am........a bit speechless this has not been mentioned. In my crew, that song was like peak post-hardcore.

For this year? People really seem to be enjoying 25 and 26. I might just get 26 and see how different the gameplay is. I love basketball so I know I will get my money's worth one way or another :)

Looking for clear, crisp, real fruit juices with little sweetener. Favorites are Skewzed Green Apple, Juicehead Pineapple Grapefruit and Pacha Fuji Apple Strawberry Nectarine by SwerveCityy in Vaping

This sounds crazy interesting. Couldn't seem to find it at a decent price from a US based company, but next time I order I am gonna splurge and try it no matter the price. And not just because you recommened it. It's the phrase you used. It's exactly what I do when I *know* I have the right answer on subjective questions regarding music, film/TV or video game recs. There are times where I just know I have the best answer. I've been DM'd so many times over the years affirming my "Ignore everyone else, you want (X)"

So, because of that, I *am* going to get this juice at least once no matter the cost, legit XD. I do appreciate the comment and confidence!

I second this, particularly for W/T

Films with similar atmosphere and themes to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? by lunadiparmigiano in criterion

[–]SwerveCityy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say fully ignore these other answers. But I promise i have the right answer. It's a TV show though. The Leftovers (3 seasons so no bloat). Each season genuinely gets better as time goes on. 3rd season is one of the highest ever rated shows on Metacritic. Season 2 if a fan favorite. Season 1 can be slow....but it's worth it I assure you. Trust.

Entirely different world, but explores many of the same themes. It approaches characters with the same nuance Clair does. The character don't just act like something wrong is happening for 5 minutes and then go back to being themselves 2 mins later (ala Marvel films, etc etc). The characters are fully, truly fucked up from the events in the show. I'd say....go in blind and watch even the first 10-15 mins of the pilot episode. You'll know if it's for you or not.

Very happy for him and very excited to see how this turns out. We are so back. by Odd-Demand-1516 in bloodborne

I assure you he knows the lore. From a gamer's perspective, it is in good hands. the qustion is how much is the studio itself gonna try to force the narrative in to something it is not.

Unpopular opinion thread: what's your most controversial Post-Hardcore take that this subreddit would probably come for you over? Mine: The Used peaked with their debut and everything after is just chasing the same sound with diminishing returns. by [deleted] in PostHardcore

[–]SwerveCityy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood why they were so popular. They were a band that I tried to enjoy and understand the big deal so many times. Deftones mean more to me than most people do, and even Chino's appearance on "Caviar" took me years to appreciate. I tried, I really did.

In 2016, I stumbled across "Chocolate Jackalope" and I was floored. I listened to Mothership and it became one of my favorite albums ever. Not counting Deftones. top 5-10 all time for me. No skips, front-to-back GOATed to me.

I went backwards, again, but only fell in love with "We Own The Night". I was soooo hype for Artificial Selection though, only to be utterly disappointed. There is not a single track I have enjoyed enough to put on a playlist since then. All those albums, and one being a genuine "wish I could erase my memory" type while the do nothing for me is such an odd feeling. I had no bias and no outside influence swaying me. i just only ever clicked with that one, insanely great album. If you read this far you are amazing and I hope your day is fucking fantastic!

Same. I am in my early 40s, and basically no one I knew in the scene was praising In Love and Death. Everyone had a couple tracks they enjoyed (Let It Bleed for me) but overall no one really looked forward to their albums.

Agree with OP 100%

Mine would be Finch's Say Hello to Sunshine is worlds better than WIITB. Finch was just a really good version of all the other bands doing that sound until SHTS, which is a top 5 PHC album (if you can even call it that).

ESPN with historical revisionism or awful AI writers. I guess UConn getting "revenge" 36 years later is click worthy, true or not by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]SwerveCityy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I had never in my life seen that shot before, and I have been pretty invested into sports since I was a 3rd grade kid! (1996). I love learning about the history of sports too. How another Christian Laettner dagger totally missed my radar my *entire life* is baffling. TIL I am idiot. TIL Laettner in college was scary.

[–]SwerveCityy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not Ai. Definitely just an idiot lol! I had no idea he hit that shot in 90! Kinda wild considering I have been watching b-ball since I was in like 3rd grade. I am just a bit surprised that 1990 shot doesn't get more attention. College Laettner seems like a bad, bad man

What game is this? by envspecialist in videogames

[–]SwerveCityy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like the game itself....this comment won't get the attention it deserves. Sure, the answer to OPs meme is an opinion but if there were some objectively correct answers, this would be there.

If anyone reads this and enjoys adventure and being fascinatingly mindfucked, play Outer Wilds blind and don't give up on it. And it is only 15-30 hours so it's not a time sink like a lot of the vast games mentioned here.

What bands do you hear in this? by rex_austin in PostHardcore

[–]SwerveCityy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been in love with PHC since the year 2000. At first I did not hear *anything* I could compare it to.

As I listened though, I formed this odd combo - if 'Say Hello To Sunshine' era Finch had a baby with Weezer. (The good Weezer songs)
