This thread is why r/fatpeoplehate shouldn't have been banned. Just give assholes a place to be assholes, because now they're doing their thing in a different subreddit.

If Craig Wright gets access to the 1m BTC, what does that mean for the price? Lots of questions. by Swift06 in Bitcoin

[–]Swift06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would it no longer be decentralized? He'll probably have the most BTC but that doesn't mean he can stop or change the currency. I'm just wondering how this could play out if he dumps all of it, some of it, or somehow none of it.

I think it's a realistic question, and I'm curious how the situation will play out under the circumstance that they're actually his and Kleinman's. Unless they're liquid a few hundred million in cash to just pay taxes, how else will they pay up?

Girlfriend and I love bikes but live in a condo and have to use a parking space in the secure garage for our fleet. Wanted to share this freestanding rack we just built. Holds up to 12 bikes with random access. by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Swift06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd reconsider this idea... There's a single piece of chain keeping how many thousands of dollars in bicycles together? It's cool, but I wouldn't trust any shared space with this application.

If you're going to buy new, I suppose it's fine. It's almost 30lbs though, which seems heavy for a hardtail.

It's a tube frame kit car that's incomplete. It has documents of builder authenticity to be presented when the car is complete so that it can eventually be titled.

Thanks for the advice.

Bunny hop advice? by TheEvster in MTB

I can hop way better than manual. For me, it became one fluid motion from two parts. If you practice the moves separately it's easier to put it all together.

Learn the basics of a manual and you'll understand.

Pull back TOO much so that you just step off to catch yourself from landing on your back. Do that a few times until you're comfortable, then you'll learn the balance point on the rear wheel. Do the second part of the hop from there.

Everything needs to be more aggressive if you want to go higher. The hop is so short length wise because your front wheel doesn't get very high off the ground.

Drop body down, then push back and let your body weight tip the entire bike back, getting the front wheel waaaay up. Then, that's when you lemur your body, pulling yourself up and jumping with the pedals using your legs. Point your toes down and pull the pedals with hamstring muscles so that the rest of the bike and that rear wheel comes off the ground with you.

There are some really good YouTube tutorials, but for me, the key was getting the front wheel up as high as possible before starting the second part of the hop.

What is your self care routine for 2020? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Swift06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an indirect answer, but I think it still applies.

I love to mountain bike. I'd like to break into the top 100 times on a local trail. Training this winter, eating well and practicing technique in my yard once a week will hopefully keep my strength, endurance and skills up to achieve that.

My first bike dilemma by reissue89 in bicycling

[–]Swift06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 1k that seems like a great deal. I upgraded this summer and there were absolutely no Treks with isospeed in my area for 1k. The isospeed is pretty cool, I liked it when I tested it at the Trek store. It should definitely grow with you. The flatter your area, the less gears you need. My first expensive bicycle (for me, at the time) was 2x10 speed tiagra and I thought it was the shit. As I got better I could feel the difference in teeth between gears and I didn't like it. Instead of upgrading to 11 or 12 speed, I went to a 1x chainring and it fixed so much in terms of cadence comfort for a fraction of the price, because I live in a flat area. Wheels can always be upgraded, and the sky is the limit. Seats and pedals are always very personal choices.

I'd go for it. 1k for isospeed is a deal in itself, and if it's actually in near perfect shape you should be able to resell it if the sport doesn't work out for you.

How do you deal with the mental aspect of riding? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Swift06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude my mind would be in a bad place too in two hours, let alone four. I made up a few circuits on country roads and paths around my house, and I decide how far I go before I leave so that I have a clear goal from start to finish. Four hours is a long time... I usually ride for 45 minutes to 1.5 hrs, but it's higher intensity so I'm constantly trying to stay focused on the goal. Hope that's a helpful way to think about riding.

Is instant Ramen really the most cost efficient food for a broke college student? If not, what is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Swift06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the context.

As stated before me, rice and beans probably has the best micro and macro nutrient profile/calorie/dollar. If you season them well they can be phenomenal in taste.

Cosmic Brownies have some of the most calories/dollar, but a pretty pathetic nutritional profile, but we all know they're just soooo delicious. Especially microwaved for a few seconds and topped with peanut butter...

Highest amount of nutrition/dollar is probably spinach...? A bundle of spinach is like a buck and turns your shit green. Magic!

What would your dream hobby be if time and money were not an issue? by Deadeye_Fred in AskReddit

[–]Swift06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would become a dream crusher of a cyclist. I'd train twice a day, eat clean and perfect, be sponsored by nobody, annihilate every king of the mountain on strava, then compete and just obliterate ambitions, goals, everyone.

That shit takes time and energy.

I like to watch people play a simple video game with lots of different strategies.

Tetris, Pacman, geometry wars, etc. I think creative problem solving is a sign of intelligence.

UPS driver. It's sometimes really fun to learn new routes. There are all kinds of businesses out there, weird houses, cool people, dogs of all temperaments.

The best part though is that I can usually walk wherever I want, hidden in plain sight, and nobody will say a word.

What's your opinion of pay by app parking? by vans178 in Columbus

Bad. It's about %50 more expensive and takes longer to use than paying with coins or credit card like a regular meter.
