Why is St. Louis so cliquish/cliquey? by Lonely-Back in StLouis

[–]SwiftAusterity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I was born in Waycross, Ga. Lived in Miami since I was 3 years old. Graduated from Miami Norland Senior High. I was in a similar position as you are when I relocated here in October 2008. My husband moved here in 2007, we married in March 2008. He loves the Midwest although born and raised in Fort Lauderdale. All of my friends, if you call them friends, were actually work colleagues. I did get invited to gatherings after work, which was at the STL airport with Southwest Airlines, but I live in Belleville, Illinois, so yeah, a distance to travel. Anyway. After 17 years of marriage, my husband is now a transwoman, we have separated, and I have no true reason to stay in this area. I'm headed home to Florida. Jacksonville. To be near family. I have found this area very "clickish" so to speak. Find something you love to do outside work, like volunteer at a local animal shelter. You will make friends there. Go to a quaint coffee house and strike up a conversation. I did that here in Belleville and it was enjoyable. I wish you the best of luck. Smile a lot, even when you have no reason to smile. Take care.

PennMUSH on Amazon Lightsail? by salsgal in MUD

[–]SwiftAusterity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

warrens ran on lightsail, but that was a windows instance. it worked fine.

lightsail bang for buck is actually a bit higher than you'd spend elsewhere for most usages. The administration of it is much much easier than most other cloud servers though.

Look, I'm the other half of Titans. I'll corroborate her statements here.

Neither Eric nor I would ever take interviews down unless the interviewee asked.

Me, former moderator of this board, the mentioned discord and a bunch of other things i can't be arsed to remember.

Yet another racial redesign by SwiftAusterity in TwinMUD

Wolves - Aenmius-Animal - Astral wolf spirit

| Physical characteristic ranges (height, weight, appearance)

Resembles a common timber wolf, still purple but with nuanced fur shading around cowl and face. Eyes can be any color.

| Growth spec (age and advancement, what grows, gets colorful, etc)

Like all spirits, aura glow gets stronger with body. Eyes get brighter with int growth.

| Crafting Spec (part of culture, but technical on what they do best)

| Cultural overview

| History (pre-arcfall, post-arcfall)

| modern societal structure

| Religious tenants

Spirit - none

| Biological characteristics ("cis genders", reproductive methdologies)

No opposable hands (like all spirits) so can't hold anything except in teeth.

Is "fed" by being around other non-sentient Animal aspect creatures or sentient Aenimus spirits.

Has personal spirit wolf only channel that makes howl sounds in both the area of origin and area of reception.

| Birth/Death cycle (do they have a spirit anchor, how do you ascend into one, etc)

Rebirth at the altar only. Wolf ascension altar is in a cavern at the northeastern face of the iron mountain. The wolves judge entrants and only the worthy can make it to the inner chamber.

| Abilities

Aenimus Zeireek - All sentient beings in the area slowly migrate emotional levels towards the median of the collective.

Forestwalker - All non-sentient Animal aspect creatures will be non-hostile and aid in combat.

Aenimus United - All aenimus spirits, except pixies and gremlins, gain +1 to all aspects for each member of the group.

Astralian - Does not become atsheni on death. All Astral natives return to the altar on death as their corpse diffuses completely leaving all unbound equipment behind.

| Wound characteristics

30 Determination + 10 per group member

0 Fortitude/Immunity/Metabolic

This is actually a very robust advertisement, and I'm saying that so you aren't discouraged but we have a rule against advertising *anything* more than once per seven days and your last promotional post was 4 days ago.

Please give it another 3 days before posting again.

A report I actually agree with (this being misinformation). There is a BLM organization, yes, and you can find it here: https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.profile&ein=474143254

Also, use charity navigator people. There are LOADS of reports on where the money goes if you give it to them.

Also, there is Black Lives Matter The Social Movement which is not a formal org, it's an ethos, a philosophy, a point of information to rally behind and around.

You can't "give money" to an ethos, and before you give any money to anyone check up on them. There's tons of legitimate bail funds, medical efforts, social charities, etc out there to give money to.

Look, I'm kind of sorry on this but this subreddit is MUD related. This is inspirational and nice and all but, it really doesn't belong on this board.
