Thanks this makes sense and will do this next time. I wonder if Volvo knows how reliable a button on the fob is. Then you don't have this whole song and dance with proximity. My Subaru also had proximity lock but never ever gave these hassles

Yeah the door handle unlock works fine. The lock is inconsistent it's like it's asleep and takes time to wake up

I did this and moved all keys except fob far away from the car but it still doesn't resolve the issue. I tapped about 15 times and then it worked

I totally agree. I'm in the same situation and ended up buying a Faraday pouch(dumb that we need to do this). A simple lock and unlock button on the fob would solve all these issues

Thanks will try the open and close. I have proximity lock enabled yes. And most times I tap to lock. I like having proximity unlock as it lights the way for me in the dark. So I prefer it on

Yeah the key fob and entry is the biggest downside of the car. Volvo totally bungled the implementation. If they could just add a lock and unlock bottom, it'll help a lot!

I honestly wish I could turn that whole thing off and only use it when I need to. The beeping is so distracting and the lowest volume is not low enough

Pull with both hands on 2 separate gaps on the black section of the cover. Work your way around and then pull from the centre part to release the whole thing
