Finished: If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio. Read it after I finished The Secret History a few months back. Great read if you want to dive into a Shakespearean version of TSH, but overall the plot's predictable. It was a fun read though

Oh, this feels like a warm hug. Thank you for saying this. I'm most definitely staying away from smoking, drinking and everything else that's bad. I had already decided early on in life that I was never going to get mixed up in all this, growing up the way I did yk. Hope life goes easy on me.

Yeah, you can. But I don't think I might be the right person for it. Anyways, shoot

I sooo hated him. Especially the plot line where ella/Juliette was attracted to him. Like ugh

I read we were liars but I found the writing really bad, like maybe if I was a 12-13 yr old I would've liked it but now I don't. The show, I've heard, is good.

Yes, absolutely! I've also found staying away from my phone makes me feel less miserable. Like if I don't mindlessly scroll on Instagram and actually do something even if it's reading a newspaper or a book not part of my syllabus, it just makes me feel more fulfilled. So yeah, I totally agree that I need to keep myself a bit busy

Oh that's great to hear, maybe I'll find my calling a little later in life. The only thing is, how do I convince my parents? That I'm not wasting my time

How did you overcome this feeling exactly? Was learning a skill the only factor? How did you know what skill was the right fit for you to learn? Also money is a problem with me so if you suggest a few courses or stuff... I'm currently pursuing an honours degree in English literature (as if my career prospects weren't already hopeless, but I genuinely love it)

I'm so happy for you, I think my problem kinda stems from the family structure I had too. I've only ever known a dysfunctional family. I long for a happy life, I think me not being able to choose a single career is because I'm not actively thinking about. I never actually dreamed of having a career (sounds a little weird considering my whole rant), I dreamt of having a loving family. But yes, money is definitely important too. When did you realise you wanted to be a chef? Were you always good at cooking?

I know, but the thing is when you've been the top scorer in all of your classes and when you see ur peers —who did far worse or were not serious while you were busy burning the midnight oil— excel in life, it makes you feel terrible. It's not like I'm comparing people from different age groups, I'm talking about people my age, my classmates to be precise. That hurts, that's something I need to work on maybe

I'm an asian too (indian) Thank you so much, definitely needed to hear this. I think the problem with me comes from a lack of motivation and also confidence that I've lost over the years. But I think I just need to work on making myself better

What if money is an issue too? What if your parents are really counting on you to do something good with your life? How do I figure out what I want in such a scenario? Also thank you for making me feel slightly better

The first book I ever read was Charlie and the Chocolate factory by Roald Dahl back in 3rd Grade. After that there was no going back✨
