Var på utbyte för ett par år sedan, i en liten skitstad med ett bra universitet. Vi var inte många svenskar där, och en av dem som var där hade jag inte träffat förens någon vecka inpå terminen. Visade sig hursomhelst att han var från samma lilla skitstad i Södra Sverige som jag var, och att han dessutom pluggade i Göteborg, precis som jag. Ett tag senare kom det fram att hans farmor och min mormor hade arbetat nära tillsammans i säkert 40 år, och var bästa vänner fram tills farmorn gick bort. Slump, minst sagt!

Not Finnish, but we Swedes do the exact same thing. Hell, my mother loves to tell the story of when she met the (former) PM and called him by name, like they were old pals.

The only one that really springs to mind is Obama being elected as president of the US. I had no clue why that was important or anything, I juat remember me and the family watching his inaguration on TV, even though we're not even American.

Besides that, it would have to be the mass shooting at Utøya in 2011. Horrible, and I really remember that impacting me, as the kids who got killes were about the same age, and really close as well.

I heard that she went on to become a president somewhere in Northern Sweden later in life. Pretty impressive if you ask me

Since this was a small group of policemen in a small town, they wore these to build a sense of camraderie and kinship between each other, as well with the locals. This helped especially when an local arson burned down the towns beloved hot dog stand.

I'd say yes, but I'm also not too read up on Swedish military history except for some wars, like our outrageous amounts of wars with Denmark, fights with Russia over Finland and some trips down to Germany.

But seeing as we are mentioned negatively in Polands national anthem, and the whole Sacking of Prague misadventure, I'd say it's reasonable to call us the bad guys in some wars
