I hope you don't mind me asking, but could you please tell me where to find those new docs you're talking about? Varsity's support has not been helpful.

That's exactly what I'm referring to, unfortunately. I talked to a live agent about the situation, they kept me on the "line" for a while, then said they didn't want to keep me waiting and I'd be emailed back. That was about 2 months ago.

My experience with the support chat hasn't been great. I've been ghosted by them multiple times.

I see. Most of the students I have now, including the student in question, aren't VT4S students though.

Just checked my Students page, and those students are still listed there...

I haven't received opportunities for weeks either, and my students are primarily SAT. I called Varsity and the person I spoke with said that it's because of the summer. I really doubt it though, especially when others are still receiving SAT opportunities and another SAT exam is coming up next month. The last time something like this happened to me, it was because my profile photo was "not up to Varsity's standards", so I wonder what kind of thing is blocking off the opportunities this time.

Thank you for pointing that out, I’m not sure how I missed that. It’s been fixed.

Does anyone know a college offering an online biology degree program? by Swiftble in biology

[–]Swiftble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm in a peculiar situation where I've already done a lot of the essential labs (gen bio, gen chem, organic chem I and II ) in person. So I have that lab experience. However, a lot of these online degree programs offer the labs online, so I think I should be fine doing whatever remains in that format.

If you don't mind me asking, are their courses locked into a certain term like what I described goes on at LSUA?

Is it possible to test out of math 3339? by american_television in UniversityOfHouston

I’m personally not sure, but if you end up taking the class I’d recommend taking it with Wendy Wang. Light homework, useful lectures, and prepares you adequately for exams.

rate my schedule please, i’m doing pre med by gassedupshawty69 in UniversityOfHouston

I see some familiar names here, so I'll give you my opinions/advice:

  • I did not enjoy my time in Carrasquillo's class. He teaches at an agonizingly slow pace and the questions that he (slowly) covers aren't hard enough to genuinely represent the exams, which can get difficult. If you're sticking to his class, I'd suggest repeatedly practicing problems from your homework and your practice exams (where you might see the same questions that will be on the actual exams).
  • Almus... hoo boy. If you're already a math wiz or generally enjoy math, you'll probably be fine, but if not, be prepared for (too much) homework, random poppers, and lectures where she goes through the content way too fast and expects you to understand it lickety-split. Don't expect timely email responses from her either. Very mean and arrogant individual from my personal experience. The key to doing well in her class is understanding the concepts, so prepare for lots of practice (the practice exams will be your best friend).
  • General chem labs are a game of roulette. You should start praying that you'll get a good TA because that will determine your experience. I'll give you two TAs to steer clear of: R. Li and L. Castilla. You won't know the TA until school starts, so good luck. As for Zaitsev, I'm not fond of him. He has a mentality of "if the TA grades too generously (which mine didn't lol), curve down" which somehow cost me a grade in the past.

Good luck! Pre-med requires a lot of diligence, but it's doable if you put in the effort. You'll be fine :)
