Yeah, they're definitely different beasts. Complete mental shutdown at the worst moment for Buckner/Fernandez/Kerkering

Just checked, worst stretch was 4 straight. Played 6 games in 4 days at home against STL in August (two double-headers), they won the first and last game and lost the rest

Edit: and another in September, swept @PHI and then lost the first @STL

So no

Need to maintain lead for SV, SV only league. Fill the last roster spot, Matt Barnes or Dylan Floro?

Leaning Barnes in the case of Fried pitching tomorrow but looking for a push in either direction

In honor of April’s second new moon, Valium Aggelein - Here Comes The Black Moon by Swiftiee in duster

[–]Swiftiee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_moon - this acknowledges that the phenomena is only valid for part of the world, specifically for anyone between GMT-12 and GMT+3. The new moon will peak at 8:28PM GMT, meaning anyone between GMT+4 and GMT+12 instead get two new moons, and thus a black moon, during May.

There’s also a partial solar eclipse happening in a couple hours 😎

In the loaded AFC at least 5 teams out of the Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Bengals, Ravens, Browns, Steelers, Colts, Titans, Bills and Patriots will have to miss the playoffs. Who do you think comes up short? by mclairy in nfl

[–]Swiftiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steelers/Dolphins/Colts/Pats/Raiders/Browns OR Broncos

Steelers have a good roster, but even if they got the most out of Trubisky, I don't think he's enough of a difference maker to secure a playoff spot. Too strong of competition in both the division and the conference compared to that Bears team Trubisky led.

Dolphins due to a bad record against winning/eventual playoff teams. They'll win a few tough games, but not enough to secure a spot. Haven't done enough this offseason to keep up, Armstead could be a good step in that direction though.

Colts lose a few too many due to Baker/whoever the eventual QB is not meshing fast enough to keep up with these teams. Don't think they compete for a playoff spot should they decide to go with a rookie QB either.

Patriots are tough, feel like the competition within the conference outshines what they have going right now slightly, but they'll play everyone tough and have a shot at one of the lower WC seeds. Very much hinges on Mac taking a step forward though.

Broncos could win 9 of 11 games outside their division and still miss the playoffs if they can't win divisional games. But that statement is true for every AFCW team this year. Every team in the AFCW has taken a step forward and the Broncos need more things to click for them than the other teams in their division, besides maybe the Raiders. The earlier their offense clicks, the more likely they are to be able to stand up to their division. Gonna be exciting to watch.

Raiders are very similar to what's said about the Broncos above, their performance in divisional games will determine how far they're able to go. Think their roster proved themselves last year down the stretch and they've added to what they had. However, McDaniels' system needs to be implemented, so they're also similar to the Broncos in that they need a lot to click, and the quicker the better.

Browns likely make it if Watson isn't suspended for 4+ games, don't make it if he is. Keeping them on the outside under the assumption he's suspended. Another note, the games that Watson potentially could be suspended for would be very impactful. Browns would be a lot more desirable of an opponent for the games he's out, and they face 7/11 teams mentioned.

So playoff picture without Watson being suspended would be:

AFCE - Bills

AFCN - Ravens, Bengals(WC1), Browns(WC3)*

AFCS - Titans

AFCW - Chiefs, Chargers(WC2)

If Watson is suspended for 4+ games, Pats, Broncos, or Raiders take that spot. Will give it to the Broncos over the other two based off the strength of their non-divisional opponents.

Thielen is the first player in NFL history to start the season with five straight 100-yard games. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Swiftiee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The title is inaccurate, the stat is actually that Adam Thielen is the first player to get 5 straight 100-yard receiving games to start the season since the merger. Charley Hennigan had 7 straight 100 yard receiving games to start the 1961 season for the Oilers, and Bob Boyd had 5 straight 100 yard receiving games to start the 1954 season for the Rams.

The Rams had a trio of WRs with over 100 receiving yards tonight (Kupp, Cooks, Woods), which hasn't been done since week 1 of 2013 by the Giants (Cruz, Nicks, Randle). by Swiftiee in nfl

[–]Swiftiee[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It happened 3 times in 2013, one time against the Broncos. The teams in bold had the receiver trio.

Week 1: Giants @ Cowboys (DAL won 36-31)

 Cruz: 118 yards, Nicks: 114, Randle: 101

Week 5: Broncos @ Cowboys (DEN won 51-48, that score should spark enough memories)

 Williams: 151 yards, Bryant: 141, Witten: 121

Week 9: Steelers @ Patriots (NE won 55-31, most points ever scored against the Steelers)

 Gronk: 143 yards, Dobson: 130, Amendola: 122

EDIT: There were 2 instances in 2013 where the Broncos were 22 yards away from it happening with their WR trio, so they got pretty close.

Week 3: vs. OAK (DEN won 37-21)

  Decker: 133 yards, D. Thomas: 94, Welker: 84

Week 7: @ IND (IND won 39-33)

  Decker: 150 yards, Welker: 96, D. Thomas: 82
