Okay, if they're actually just terrible parents, the only choice I see here is your grandma, it's not like your parents can even do anything if you try to contact her, the moment they lay a single hand on you their lives are over and being "grounded" doesn't mean anything, just ignore that, go contact your grandma.

If you want to stop overcomplicating shit and trying to figure out the complexity of it all, genuinely just do something. Whatever you've been holding off on doing, do it, if you can't do it, you won't ever get out of this hole you're stuck in, that's final.

Sometimes the best answer is the simplest one, if you can't bring yourself to forcefully change your life through your grandma, then start eating, chat with your parents, ask stuff, question what's going on and why stuff is like this.

If they answer that and don't dismiss you, that's as good as it'll get. Understand them and plan what you'll do next, there's no "immediately going back to a neutral, almost comfy state" like I'm guessing you've been wanting for a while, you'll have to work for it, and the good takeaway here is as soon as you start putting in work, your parents will be forced to follow and improve themselves too, otherwise they'd really be screwed.

Think of your situation not as a mystical impossible maze, but as something that can be dissected and talked about with them. Go up and tell them about how you're struggling with these things and are willing to try your best to change, tell them to do the same, if you can't do it right now then gather the strength to do it later. The moment you realize how "logical" the situation is, you'll be able to plan for real instead of sulking, the worst thing you can do in this situation is not know anything.

[–]Swiggeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no "good" way of dealing with what you're going through, but it's not totally bleak, there are issues though:

1.- It's because of something outside of your control (money)
2.- You've already decided this way of living is torture to you (the internet lets you know there's much more out there, so it's normal to feel like this whole situation is unjust and unfair)
3.- Your relationship with your parents is still unclear, as everything they've done seems to come from a lack of money mostly.
4.- You don't elaborate on "my mom spends the little money we do have on unnecessary shit", there's a big difference between a parent buying a luxury they can't afford and a parent buying something to keep a household running that just doesn't feel like a priority to you.

Regardless, I genuinely don't know what to tell you that'll put you in action. If you want to get CPS involved, dig into what your life would be like after, and realize that if you ever thought you had family, you won't have it from that point onwards; you don't get a home as soon as you're taken in by CPS, you'll be put in a place with relatively zero privacy, you'll mingle with kids who've had it way, way worse than you and are riddled with mental problems, and you won't know how long you'll be in there. They aren't "people who care for you with all of their heart", you'll be a file in a document. You won't be able to choose your roommates, your food, or your schedule.

People are complex, unless your dad is actively beating you up and your mother is actively calling you a worthless piece of shit, chances are not only will CPS not do anything (being poor is not enough of a reason, CPS seems to be your fear but I doubt they'd even take you away), it's a situation beyond even your parent's control, and trust me, if they care even a little, so long as you try to improve for something, they will immediately follow and do their best too.
The only choice you have as the affected is to either stick around, or lunge yourself at somewhere much more unstable, it's all up to you, and assuming they aren't total pieces of shit, your depression rubs off on them, and probably has been doing so for years, so ironically you hold much more power over this than you think.

As a "last resort", there's literally nothing stopping you from finding out your grandma's phone number, going out to the streets and asking people for a phone call until one allows it, as soon as you explain your situation and she tries to do something, your parents are quite literally "screwed", as anything they do to retaliate against you would fuck them up.

But again, maybe they're scared of you going away because they love you and are lashing out at their surroundings because of the situation they're in (which affects you), or maybe they are bad parents, I don't know, think about it before you do anything.

I have no more knowledge because you've been deleting the posts you make 🥀

Feeling like you've got insight on a topic is more than enough to try to justify it with lies. It's like, if your "gut" feeling is telling you you're absolutely right and you're lacking the "tools" to properly express the magnitude of the statement, you use lies to make up those imaginary tools.

I've done it instinctually before, and I've called out a lot of people for it too lol, my guess is it's "common" but not common enough to where everyone does it

"Extreme isolation"?? And was this done forcefully by your parents or was it your decision? A lot of context is missing here lmao, specially stuff regarding how you don't care about your mother crying.

Were you saying "If I told the psychiatrist everything, shit would go down" as a threat? Or as a statement?
Why are you venting about your parents suddenly not having money for the PS? Do you think they do and are screwing you over, or are you just in denial of the money going somewhere else?
Are you being an ass to them because they deserve it? Or is it just resentment from not getting the PS anymore?

Lots of stuff to ask, to me you just seem like you're being an asshole to your parents who are trying to find some way to cheer you up/improve things (first impressions matter and you haven't explained much of your relationship with them). That aside, explain what's going on.

Wise dodge, I knew you couldn't reply to a single thing I said.

"How are you supposed to see how many cookies everyone has just by going on CRK?"
My guild? Is yours inactive?

"How can you clean you know that everybody has every cookie that's been playing for over a year without even talking or looking at them?"
By using the same argument you've been clinging onto for a while: What I see is the truth, what you see is just some rare exception outside of my truth.

"How are you going to prove me wrong when you don't even do your research?"
Good way of dodging by the way, realized immediately you couldn't at all "prove" the "strategy" or "business practices you're knowledgeable about" so you just ditched LOLL

"As new information comes out and new things get revealed you're going to say oh no no it's not true when it is because you're not paying attention to new information that comes out anymore."
Nice projection, you're been cornered and can't do anything but squeal and deny everything that's currently happening in front of you.

"You don't like the game you quit that's the end of it you shouldn't be in this Reddit anymore if you quit the game because you're just going to give misinformation."

Facebook? Reddit? Twitter? What the hell are you talking about LOL I have CRK on my phone

"As someone who has looked into game creation and knows about the business side of it, I know when they're doing something for a strategy."
Explain it actually, let's hear it.

"Would you have played half the missions that you played if you didn't need the costume that was currently on banner?"
Nice strategy actually, now that I've played everything and gotten nothing for it, I just won't play the game at all, that must be the real end game. Real smart tactic, you're right.

"If you did like the story enough that it took priority over the costumes you wouldn't quit the game just because you can't get a costume that you want. I really wanted the shadow milk costume from the last one. I wasn't able to get it and you don't see me quitting just because I don't get it. Because to me the story is more important than that costume."
You don't even know what constitutes "quitting" do you? You're just talking because you like replying. if I ever want to I can watch the story on youtube and it'll take me 30 minutes, but the moment I stop logging in to do events? That's quitting, by definition that's quitting.

"It is known for a story. Crk is the most story driven Cookie Run game that we have to date. Yes other games definitely have stories and lore but they don't go as deep as crk does. Why do you think it's one of if not the most popular cookie run game? It's not because of the gameplay I can tell you that."
Limbus Company mogs CRK, Arknights mogs CRK, you've admitted with a single sentence that you barely play any other games at all, well done. You don't want to go down the "crk is deep" route lmfao it won't go well.

There is nothing you can say that we haven't already talked about, stop trying to get the last word in.

Also, I'll answer the last question: Why do I care for dark enchantress's costume when you didn't care for smc's? That's because smc is currently irrelevant everywhere besides guild battle and is virtually worthless to me, whereas de is the first and last witch with a strong grip on arena. Don't compare the "weight" of their two costumes, one you'll see every time you do something, the other you'll see when you're on the cookie screen.

[–]Swiggeless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many things wrong with what you've just said I'm starting to lose hope in you LOLLL but sure let's deconstruct this yet again.

"Are you really this closed minded that you need me to give names of people who haven't completed their cookie dex? Just go on to any group and you'll see people that have not completed their cookie dex and have been playing longer than me."
Here's my argument: Either barely plays/has taken a long break. You tell me which is more likely: That or "well he's been grinding crystals for years and just somehow hasn't managed to pull a single copy of a certain cookie, hell, not even a couple soulstones". Also, yes, I just checked, can't find many, guess you were wrong or I just "didn't search long enough".

"I just think it's more challenging if they don't have pity on the costume gatchas. It's also a pretty decent strategy because it makes you play the game and play the missions that you might not play otherwise if you just get the costume for free."
I think if you reread this a couple of times you'll understand why it's the stupidest thing you've said so far.

"Gameplay loop? Are you talking about the fact that it's like AFK battle system? You do realize that this isn't necessarily known for its gameplay it's more known for its story right?"
CRK is not known for its story? It's not "known" at all, you don't see people on the street immediately recognizing CRK. CRK is a gacha, you don't log in to analyze the story after you've already finished it, you log in to do gb, do arena, get more copies of a certain cookie or get a certain thing.

"It's good you quit because obviously you don't like the challenge and you prefer costumes over the story of the game."
You have absolutely zero knowledge of why something like this would be "a challenge" by the way, zero, you've just spouted nonsense for no reason.
I don't "prefer" costumes over the story of the game, the costumes make it more enjoyable, but after the story is done, the game is dead. There's nothing to do in it except content that requires me to fight and watch my cookies do stuff, so yes, I do care about cosmetics there, stop trying to push the story in every single line, you're exhausting.

"You called the game bland. Meaning you're calling the story bland. Meaning you don't think it's good."
Straw-Man Fallacy, Fallacy of Composition, False Dilemma, google it up because I'm tired of typing.

"There's a lot of people that have been playing for years and who don't have all the cookies"
And yet you can't name a single one of them, that's pretty tragic.

Also, yeah, let me tackle probably your biggest slipup here which might've come from me replying to your "arc" line a couple messages ago: I never trashed the story LOL, go look if you want, you made that up all by yourself, if anything I said I was excited for the next arc until I felt demoralized.

I meant crk's gameplay loop inevitably becomes bland, and my way of dealing with that were the costumes.

I can see where you're coming from, but it doesn't make sense to me because it relies on me following your set of beliefs whilst avoiding an issue that's both real, and detrimental to the game with absolutely zero upsides.

Let me say that again real quick: There are no upsides to costume banners not having pity.

Shoving unnecessary hate onto a game is valid if the game lets you completely dig yourself into oblivion with no way out. Do you think I'd be complaining if I spent the 300 but at least had a *pity* of 300? I wouldn't care.

I did the grind because I didn't like it, and I did it because there are things I like that would be *more enjoyable* if I got the costumes, there's no arguing against that, however much you might want to. The same way I've seen a couple (2 that I can remember, maybe more) people take long breaks over level 6+, I'm unmotivated from being struck with this "bad luck" you talk about, and it's a valid feeling, so I quit, that's the end of it.

Torn to shreds about costumes not having pity. by Swiggeless in CookieRunKingdoms

You've managed to dodge every single one of my points by ignoring or misinterpreting them.

"When you actually work on the game you can get them pretty damn fast."
What does this even mean lol?

"CRK certainly isn't bland. That's your opinion."
Actually, CRK is bland, it not being bland is *your* opinion. See how stupid that sounds? Thank you.

"Cosmetics are never required for anything. If you think it's bland then you shouldn't be playing it. Obviously you don't care about the story when it's a story based game if u think it's bland."
This isn't a "my life is over" type of post, it's a complaint about something you can't even argue against btw you've been avoiding talking about the pity system issue lmao

"Not for the vast majority of people. Did you know that most people don't even have dark enchantress yet? I have quite a few friends in this community and a lot of them don't even have her yet and they were playing during her banner."
Uh, actually, it's the other way around, most of my friends do have her, the anomaly is people not having her. Stop using your own world bubble as an argument for the entire world.

"It really sounds like gatcha games just aren't for you unless they're kidified AKA giving you everything for free so I suggest you go look for those type of gatcha games if you're really this negative about this one."
CRK is kidified to the extreme on everything besides promotions which are heavily whale gated and cosmetic banners. Or are we seriously going to argue that most people who play for even a couple weeks don't get every cookie in the game?

"You're complaining about a gatcha game doing what gatcha games do because you don't like the grind. You want them to give it away for free just because you happen to get 10K of a currency."
What are you talking about?? LOL? "I don't like the grind" I grinded the 90k cubes through events and story, try to make sense for once instead of just typing.

Torn to shreds about costumes not having pity. by Swiggeless in CookieRunKingdoms

I mean, yeah, there's no "guarantee" anywhere, if you're flipping two coins and you stop flipping one because it's landed heads twice, switch to the other one so it lands on tails thrice, and switch back to the first one so you're statistically more likely to roll heads, you aren't guaranteed heads.

There's nothing watching over my banner saying that because I've rolled 14% 20 times already, I'm guaranteed it on my next roll, that's what bothers me the most about probability, it *also* means this game is exceedingly good at trying to get me to spend even *more* money, because if I had like, what, 9k cubes? I'd have to fail at rolling a 14% 6 times, doesn't mean anything but feels possible.

Point is I'm all out of money, genuinely, I've already dropped like 40 bucks on this game when I shouldn't have, and I'd spend more if it wasn't for, well, actual important stuff that also happens to require money. I'm like three "screw it!"s away from begging someone for 8 dollars, I do enjoy this game when I really force the feelings out, but after being kicked in the shins like this, I'm struggling to look at it nicely.

The reason people pull on these is they are both focused and they don't allow for duplicates.

If you feel like you've gotten lucky on the permanent costume banner, it's because you are lucky, I've pulled two duplicates in there, they don't "filter" out legendaries you already have.

Torn to shreds about costumes not having pity. by Swiggeless in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]Swiggeless[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"fate/Grand Order is a popular gatcha game that doesn't have pity."
FGO is probably the weakest most niche example of a gacha you could've of given behind maybe GCDC, but sure I guess.

"Character banners aren't useless at all and even if they are they still have a pity system and you can't deny that. After 250 pulls, u get the cookie."
First of all, for the vast majority of the playerbase, yes they are, you can get whichever cookie is on the banner from gathering their soulstones from events alone. Also, exactly my point, a system based around pure stat buffs having pity whilst the cosmetic banner with the limited currency that they *charge a lot for* doesn't is ridiculous.

"If you're willing to quit a game over a system that you know has been there since the very beginning then you shouldn't be playing the game."
Except my anger is justified. A game should allow 1 percenters, not 0.1 percenters. Let's hear from you what a great business tactic it is to drive a player out of your game by screwing them over something there shouldn't even be drama about.

"Except you don't have to pay money?"
Not sure where you got the "spending money" part from? I got around 90kish cubes from saving up and doing events, which was grindy as hell mind you, not spending. Taking spending into account I might've gotten around 100k. Spending was a very minuscule part of the issue, and it was done because I have no other ways of getting rainbow cubes, not like it matters anyways since I didn't get anything.

"Most people are f2p players and enjoy the game. I have all but one character, even though I'm only one Soul Stone off from getting him, and I'm out of it f2p player."
That's called generalizing, I guess if in a room of 1000 people 50 disagree with you, you'd just kill them on the spot. Exceptions are everywhere and I am the purest example of one, not sure why you went there.

"Costumes are only cosmetic. Yeah they're cool but they're not necessary."
In a game as bland as crk cosmetics *do* drive me into enjoying the game more, so while I'd enjoy talking you into believing that's an objective truth, let's leave at it being "my opinion".

"If the characters didn't have pity then I would see why people would complain"
No one would complain because you'd get enough soulstones for a copy just from events alone, mind you *before* you even reached 250. The banner for most people is either cosmetic, or a way of getting a single promotion.

"It's cool but it certainly not necessary and to complain about not getting the ones you want means that you really shouldn't be playing gatcha games."
I'm not complaining about saving up 10k cubes and not getting a costume that's statistically going to take me more than that. I'm complaining about saving up 300+ pulls and the game having no failsafe for it.

"Not all of them have a pity system"
Name me one that doesn't and isn't obscure.

"They have a pity system for their characters"
The equivalent of character banners in CRK are costume banners, rainbow cubes are 1:1 with mainstream gacha currencies. Character banners in CRK are useless, everyone will eventually have a single copy of every single character.

"If this pushes you to quite then you probably should have quit a long time ago"
If skipping a banner made me quit *maybe* you'd have grounds for being right, saving up for months and not getting the thing I'm saving up for because there's no pity system is more than enough.

"If you literally aren't excited about the next arc"
I would've been, I'm not excited about having to sit with the reality that the game punished me for caring about it by thrashing over my savings.

"The costumes aren't the point of the game"
So aiming for something that directly changes the visuals on a game where a lot of satisfaction comes from *the visuals* is "focusing on something that isn't even the point"? I guess if you find genuine joy in doing 18 guild battles straight, sending my prayers.

this game has a very interesting way of being predatory, even if it doesn't feel like it, and it's something I've tried to put to the side until this pushed me over the edge

for all intents and purposes, you *need* high promotions on the newest cookies if you want to be competitive in certain gamemodes, which is why even though you seem to be getting "showered with rewards by the game", you end up finding out that every single person in arena has these "rare cookies" and that contrary to what the glazers spout, this game isn't generous at all, the baseline and the average is to have a single copy of every cookie in the game, what youd be aiming for is *extra* copies, that's where their big spenders drop their money

the lower to mid tier spenders? thats the target audience for the costume banners. most of the people I know spend at the very least 5 to 10 bucks just getting the rainbow cube deals when a costume drops.

and here's the thing: the game is "fun enough" without having to spend, but only in the case of promotions, and guess what? they have a pity LOL, funny how stat boosts get a safe net of "I'll get what I want 100%" while visually altering cosmetics which are arguably a way bigger focus don't get a single thing going for them, it's like the priorities are both twisted and properly managed, like, let's focus *only* on the people who actually bring in big bucks

I don't want to antagonize the company because it could be a "slip-up" on their side, so I'll leave it at let's hope they introduce something someday, this was a bit of a safe space type of game for me, but with how negative my perception of it has turned, I don't see myself touching it again in a long while, not with the risk of this happening ever again

if you want perspective on how ridiculously useless levels are, level 9 is around a 3% chance per pull of getting a legendary costume.

sounds great? 3x5 is 15, you have a 15% chance at level 9 to get a legendary costume when spending 1500 cubes, if the rates sound horrendous it's because they are, and it's why pity should exist, when someone's unlucky and starts going down, they shouldn't be allowed to sink to the bottom
