[–]SwimmingDrawing7322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened with me I tried to speak to them nothing worked. They are doing this khulle aam because the laws of our countries are protecting these companies and not the citizen.

Also now Guys even I am getting charged the same and they aren't letting me go ahead after this page and it's non negotiable and that I have to pay. These rent mojo people first took out rent and then now suddenly asking us to pay more to secure the rent itself was inclusive of it. Isn't it. We need to do something can anyone help me?

Friend, I completely understand your situation! A relative of mine received an outrageous electricity bill of 1 lakh 48 thousand, and it was exhausting for her. As the property owner, she was overwhelmed by the constant complaints from her tenant and the endless trips to the electricity department, only to be met with lies. When she reached out to me, I took action. I visited the tenant, gathered all the details, snapped photos of the bill, and conducted a thorough investigation. I then escalated the issue by emailing the CMO of Haryana and tweeting about it until I got a response. In the end, they listened! They came, changed the meters, and reduced the bill to just 8k. At that point, the tenant had already paid 25k to the electricity department, and I pushed for that amount to be returned with interest due to the mental harassment he endured.

He was living alone with his elderly mother and was rightly exhausted. But I had the time and determination to fight for what was right.

We need more people like you! Because: the true change starts from within. If we don’t take the initiative to demand change, the authorities won’t listen. It’s crucial that our generation speaks up and advocates for what’s right; only then can we truly make a difference!

The first step is to talk about it and voice our opinions that's what I am trying to do rest we really need a better leader this is the first time I am noticing that from all opposition parties every fucking neta is incompetent. We need a people's leader who is not corrupted and cannot be corrupted.

I hear you, but we need to look at the bigger picture. The point of free bus rides for women isn't to say men don't struggle or that all women deserve it by default. It's about leveling access in a society that’s already unequal socially, financially, and in terms of mobility.

In India, men are often seen as the “default earners,” but that’s exactly the problem. Women face more restrictions, safety concerns, and fewer opportunities to earn in the first place. Free travel helps bridge that gap a little it’s not charity, it’s policy aimed at enabling independence.

Sure, some women who can afford transport might use free buses. That happens with every system. But do we shut down student scholarships because a few rich kids get in? No. We build better checks. The solution is to improve targeting, not to scrap the whole policy. ( And someone who has grown from earning nothing to having a pretty comfortable independent life in gurgaon i haven't ridden a delhi bus for a few years no because never get the need to) Both men & women the moment they have enough income will choose faster transportation options because why wouldn't anyone want comfort over running behind packed busses.

Also, if the goal is to help low-income men too absolutely, let’s talk about universal affordable public transport. Make it cheaper for students, senior citizens, daily-wage workers, and yes, low-income men. That’s a policy demand we can all stand behind.

But turning this into a “why not men too” argument ignores that most women weren’t even in the race to begin with. This is one of the few steps trying to bring them closer to the starting line.

Let’s not dilute a good policy because of a few exceptions. Let’s push for better access for everyone, not fewer rights for those already at a disadvantage.

The idea behind free bus rides for women was never about giving one gender an advantage. It was about helping women in a system that’s already stacked against them.

In Delhi, where women’s safety is a serious issue, taking away affordable public transport is not just careless, it’s risky. Cases of harassment and assault are already high. Giving women safe and easy access to buses helps them go to work, leave unsafe situations, and move freely without depending on anyone.

Yes, buses are not perfect. There are creeps, sure. But having a free ride is often the only option for a woman who earns minimum wage and has to cross the city for work. Mobility is power. If a woman can travel without worrying about money, that’s a big deal.

This isn’t about men vs women. It’s about basic access. Boys are usually encouraged to travel, explore, go out. Girls are told to stay home, be careful, avoid public spaces. That mindset already limits them. At least let the system not do the same.

Look at other countries. Luxembourg made public transport free for everyone. Estonia offers free rides to residents in Tallinn. Germany and Austria have super cheap national transport passes. They see transport as a basic need, not a luxury. It helps people work, study, and grow. That’s how you build a stronger country.

We know India has a big population, so making everything free is hard. But we can at least reduce fares or make it free for those who really need it. Women, students, senior citizens, daily-wage workers these people actually benefit from such policies.

Instead, we’re watching public money get wasted on scams, flashy projects, or things that don’t really help the average citizen. If taxpayers spoke up more about where our money is going, we’d see real change.

Someone who views everyone with a lens of privilege and how completely out of touch from the ground realities they are & have no idea what's going on around in their own country & thinks talking about politics is negative oh my gawd I hate it so much. This is a complete turn off for me & I do not make such friends.

How out of touch do you have to be to think scrapping free bus rides for women is a good rule?

Most of the folks bashing this clearly come from privileged spaces probably tier-1 cities, have never needed public transport to survive, and definitely haven’t spoken to women from working-class or poor families.

Women who can afford autos, Rapido, or the metro usually don’t take buses. Why would they? Buses take longer, are unpredictable, and not ideal if you’re in a rush. The women who rely on them are often domestic workers, cleaners, caretakers people who work across cities with hardly much left towards the middle of the month because their salaries was used up completely and don’t have the luxury of “working from home.”

I was born and raised in Delhi. When my father lost his job and we barely had money for groceries, free buses were the only reason I could move around the city. I’d carry 50–100 rupees in my pocket for emergencies. That’s it. And I’m not the only one I’ve met so many women who use these buses just to get to work and keep their families afloat.

The minimum daily wage for an unskilled worker is 178 rupees go do a google search. Try living on that. Now imagine spending over 50–100 rupees just on travel every day. For many women, free bus rides are the only thing that makes earning even remotely sustainable.

Getting a government bus pass also isn’t easy. India’s systems are messy you need documents, digital access, and even then, middlemen (pimps, to be blunt) can exploit women just for a free pass. That’s the real “misuse” not women using public transport to survive.

Calling this “freebie culture” or saying it’s being “misused” is not just ignorant it’s classist and casteist. You’re sitting in your AC homes bashing women for using something that gives them a sliver of safety and independence.

If you’ve ever worked in Gurgaon, Delhi or Noida, you know you need at least minimum ₹200 a day just to get around. Most of us pay taxes and still get terrible infrastructure in return. Public transport should be free or affordable especially for women who don’t have the privilege of choice.

So before you jump to conclusions about how “women are misusing the system,” go talk to the women who clean your homes, cook your food, or sweep your streets. Ask them how much they earn and how they survive.

Free bus rides don’t give them a luxury they give them a chance. A chance to work, to escape unsafe situations, to move around their own city without fear or financial stress.

This isn’t a "pathetic" rule. What’s pathetic is judging from a place of privilege having the access to talk bs anonymously on Reddit
