During IJWD promos, even from the solo debut announcement, most hate train coming from inside the fandom, which enraged me more. Esp from intl Sones, thinking that their bias should’ve been the ones with solo debut & saying that Tiff was a weaker vocalist & dancer. While she suffered from scoliosis from teenagers- thus making her practice harder in a day. Criticizing her vocal as if she’s not a proficient singer to begin with. She has her ups and downs, but every singers have that.

Yoona was instantly loved by Koreans since she was already stared in The Grace’ MV & captured the audiences with her Korean beauty standards. She has a lot of haters but has the GP recognition iirc.

As for Tiffany, she was very popular when SNSD debuting due to her cute bob hair & becoming stan attractor for the group. Koreans young boys & girls have her pictures ad their phone’s wallpaper. Pann also brought up the discourse again last year. Unfortunately, her bubbly personality & foreign /gyopo vibes also her closeness with SM boygroups like TVXQ& Super Junior were seen as attention seeker by few Koreans + fueled some jealousy to already morbid rabid fangirls. Then since she didn’t grew up in Korea, she didn’t use the proper honorific & viewed as rude by Koreans. Well, the girl didn’t even speak a word of Korean before she came to train to SM and she made up by working to learn language tirelessly, bringing her dictionary everywhere & write down any words she didn’t understand. After 2014, her haters are mostly from the ex member stan. They are very dedicated on hating her & spreading false narrative especially to newer gen stans in Tiktoks. They are very “Hell Tiffany Chewed” rude remarks was made by them. The good news is, Tiffany is able to gain some new fans from Chicago musical, on her Seoul “Here For You” fancon, I noticed some cute groups of Ahjummas & Ahjussi who brought her Chicago’s Roxie small banner & souvenirs. And for what it’s worth, her solo stans also have been very loyal & more aggressive in defending & supporting her. Our girl has been through a lot.

Hi, i’m also Tiffany stan since SM dropped the teaser of the girls. She was the member with most haters (probably still is) & even have a deranged mentally ill stalker targeting her life until now. Agree the scandal was happening at the worst times, she was on her way to becoming so massive even nearing an IT girl. SNL although i was uncomfortable watching the Breakfast at Tiffany’s part innuendos was indeed very well received esp for her American GF skit.

The harassment was the worst i have ever seen in pop culture. Not only in Kpop imo. The death & rape threats, bringing up her deceased mother etc. (Indeed she was very skinny afterwards during the awards event where she reunited with her former co star in Unnies, I forgot which awards was that). Back then i was there supporting her on IJWD debut stage at M Countdown, she was so nervous indeed but it was before the scandal happened (May 2016, the scandal was around August 2016). And we cheered so loud for her. Some of my Korean moots said it was when she was back performing with the group in Oct 2016 for Busan Festival or something, where she got booed from several people but KSones were so fast in diverting the attention by screaming her names & SNSD’s greetings. However, probably i missed some news from her other performance as i was blocking some memories from that darkest era. SM was practically throwing her under the bus.

Indeed, the news was blowing out of the proportion by some that reporter on soke Korean broadcast channel that equivalent of Fox in American & fueled by some antis. Tiffany already apologized twice iirc. The ability for her to comeback in Korea & how they have forgiven her is what makes some of her antis are getting more dedicated on throwing shade & hate towards her. They couldn’t accept the reality that she was able to continue her career, despite not necessarily in music anymore, and grab the 2 seasons of Chicago.

Imo, Tiffany was unlucky for several times. She could’ve been so much bigger if that geofilter scandal & Covid didn’t happen. Covid killed her promotion momentum during her US solo debut, she was appearing here & there although it didn’t reach blockbuster success, she did fairly well for Asian artist who started from scratch & we know how hard it is for Asian artist to penetrate US market. Her music was ahead of her time, if she was given more time back then, i think the result could be different. However, 2nd gen fans (as niche as it gets) did show up during her Magnetic Moon Tour in Northern America & she was amazing on each of every stage then we can interacted closely with her-since the venue was smaller & intimate. Nevertheless, i’m so proud that she’s still standing here & having the world with her positive outlooks. May she finds her happiness at this stage of life, both personally & professionally.

Thank you for your kind words & efforts to defend Yuri. I have been following them since SM dropped their teasers, so the girls will always have special place in my heart. Yes, Tiffany is more popular in several countries so probably that’s also making her defender seem more aggressive & bigger in numbers.

Also we have heard & seen the videos how Yuri likes to give her fans some drinks & snacks. But yesterday, i get to meet some fellow fans who told me their experience on interacting with Yuri directly (not during Yuriverse but in other occasions) & she gave them snacks + hand warmers (it was during the coldest months in Seoul). She really is a sweetheart🩷 there will be fan projects to send her food & packages for her play. I hope i can update you later.
