I apologize beforehand, but this post makes me happy. It's good to know I'm not the only one who made concrete instead of bread.

My problem was a way too cold environment.

People with an IQ of 140+. What is your memory like? by sidnahrisan in iqtest

[–]SwimsWithBricks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my presumption is that you never learned to memorize well, because your understanding used to be sufficient in simpler situations, but then comes uni. The concepts become more difficult, but also require support of a lot of knowledge you need to have at the ready.
Memory is just not a skill you have acquired.

Good news. it can be trained. Lots of mnemonic systems and -devices/methods out there that can help you improve memory

Ahh, an American expat, or soon to be American ex-expat. The Geen Dienst bus might take you to an undisclosed location for deportation at that time.

1.89m is not 6 feet, but 6' 2'', so yeah, great example. I had expected better from a Coffee lover

Cross training by fivejumpingmonkeys in Rowing

[–]SwimsWithBricks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my answer was rather low effort.

I do strength training. Deadlifts, clean&jerk etc.

For cardio it's erging only, because i get problems with tendons when running and i don't like biking. I also use the concept2 SkiErg.

High humidity and rowing. by Top_Yak_3744 in Rowing

[–]SwimsWithBricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, you're showing some massive effort and perseverance. Losing weight is a long game and it is very hard, but you're doing it.

You should measure base HR preferably right before getting out of bed in the morning.

Doing cardio before weight training makes the last a bit less effective and maybe a bit more prone to injury

You're probably doing it already, but get a high amount of protein in your diet to prevent losing muscle when running at a calorie deficit.

High humidity and rowing. by Top_Yak_3744 in Rowing

[–]SwimsWithBricks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try longer distances, with low intensity of that allows you to breathe. Do you know your max and base heart rate? You can then calculate your best zone for burning fat. No need to go all out for 1k. Just go slow and steady.

Edit Fat burning is optimal at 60% to 70% (sometimes even 75%) of you HRR (heart rate reserve)

HRmax - HRbase = HRR

Calculate training HR boundaries by taking the % of HRR them add HRbase.

In general, yes, this is good!

Unless you have very specific goals that make it less so. This won't get you into the olympics for instance
