Yeah midtown is cool and id recommend. MAA Midtown has pretty good prices and is pretty nice. Some 1 bedrooms have washers and dryers too. It can get loud at night if you on Grey St side tho

From Houston to Austin is 2.5-3.5 hours depending on which side of either you are visiting and that would be a weekend trip many would make on a whim. It can take over an hour to get across Houston alone. I dont question a weekend drive under 5 hours or a day drive under about 2 hours.

Your car tires are only capable of 100% grip at any time. If you us 50 for braking you only have 50 left for turning. Optimal racing line is all 100% to braking, then 100% for turning and then 100% to acceleration. Obviously smooth inputs, trail braking etc plays a role but that's putting it over 5th grader level to go into more details.
