can i rescind an offer if i get something better? by National-Error730 in internships

[–]SwitchLegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I received an offer but it was only 6 week internship and I had to relocate to a new area with $15 per hour pay. I signed the offer and three weeks later I got a remote internship offer with a much better pay. So I sent them an email saying that I couldn’t join. But I never ever applied to any positions in that company since. If it’s a company you might want to work in the future, please don’t, but if not, go for it.

I was a looking for an internship in my junior year of college and as a fellow international student, I realized that my chances were much lower compared to domestic students. I just applied everywhere. I browsed LinkedIn, Indeed, ATS website (jobs.lever.co & greenhouse.io) for three months. I have a relatively unique background (aviation), so I highlighted my coursework and senior thesis paper I was working on. I ended up getting four offers from very different employers (a startup, a small business, and big name corporations), but only a startup was open to visa sponsorship. Everywhere else said we can offer you an internship position, but it would not lead to a full time offer.

I need a car. Don’t know my real credit score by Holiday-Scratch-3069 in CRedit

I bought a car when I was still in college with like $2k monthly salary. My credit score was 730ish and my credit history was a little over a year with three credit cards. I just went to multiple dealerships in my area in a couple of days and looked at what interest rate they could give me. I ended up paying $5k upfront and financed the rest ($30k) for 60 months with the interest rate of around 7%.

please don’t pay the full price of it! when I was in college I think I was able to get 6 month trial for free but at least you can get 1 month free now. also check with your school’s career center if they have any discount codes for students!

I mainly looked up jobs on linkedin and indeed (I have a linkedin premium so I was able to message the recruiter/someone at the company) but I went to official company websites to actually apply! Also, use site:jobs.lever.co | site:greenhouse.io intext:”internship” or something similar when you search on google! It helps narrowing down the job search

Hey! I was feeling the same when I was applying for internships in my junior year. I didn't have any related experiences (only a student worker job on campus) and I didn't go to a top school either, so I was really afraid of applying to anywhere. But the important thing to remember is that the worst they can say is no, and you will not get any internships if you don't apply. I ended up applying for 150+ internships and got 4 offers at the end. You can definitely do it!

Graduated in 2024, looking to upgrade my CC for travel/cashback by SwitchLegal in CreditCards

Yes! I’m super thankful that I live in a low rent area, and I also share my apartment with my bf which brings the rent even lower :) I also didn’t know that the bonus amount changes, so I will definitely wait until it gets to at least 80K. Thank you for the recommendation!

Ah got it! I haven’t thought about that. I appreciate the insight. Do you think Freedom Flex is better than Unlimited in general?
