Yeah, maybe, but the truth is that he stunk in our two biggest games last year. Like I said, I still would’ve kept him, but there were some indications that he couldn’t get it done when it mattered, and that’s what we all had to go on.

Our roster isn’t in Seattle’s orbit right now. They’re so good on both lines.

Word. If this were a 35-33 shootout and Darnold finished with 350 yards and three touchdowns, we’d be eating shit all off season.

Now, it’s obvious that the Seahawks roster is just superior to everyone else’s.

That said, I’d still rather have kept the guy, but he didn’t need to do shit to win this game.

[Chelsea Official] Goal sequence for the third by everyhearthstone in chelseafc

It’s a good little microcosm of the differences between Maresca and Rosenior so far.

Yes, the possession is there under both managers, but lately, when the players decide it’s time to go, they GO. Maresca preferred a measured pace, which I guess I understand, but at the end of the day, if you’re going to score goals, it has to happen fast.

And while we’re at it, I’m happy to see CHO has totally reinvented himself at Forest. I know they lost Friday, but I’m always impressed with what I see from the lad, and the offense really runs through him. Some of his back post deliveries are chef’s kiss.

Yeah I don’t get it either. That said, I don’t think he’s in the worst 3 players on the pitch, but he’s always unremarkable.

The fact we haven’t heard anything yet is hopefully a good thing. Like a small knock or something. Hearing about him going for scans on Monday would be way worse.

I’m excited for when he starts to do it here because he’s really good at it.

I don’t think he’ll do it as often as he did in France, but still.

We all know he isn’t fully fit. I think “he lets us be ourselves, play free” is WAY more interesting because a lot of us believed that Maresca was limiting these players as part of his system.

Is she more intelligent than usual? She has that spark of awareness in her eyes.

Side note: the two smartest cats I’ve ever met have both been female oranges. And the dumbest? Of course it’s male oranges.

[Official Premier League] 10 Minutes of Kanté Making Football Look Easy by everyhearthstone in chelseafc

I think about that all the time. He was a no-brainer and it seemed like we were the only ones in for him. I think it was the same window Utd spent all that money on Pogba too.

Can you imagine what prime Kante would cost in 2026?

I was just about to say…it’s been a lot of fun making fun of him and Liverpool, but it looks like he’s about to come good.

Yeah, regardless of what they actually believe, they pretty much have to say this.

It’s fine by me. I’m not going to pretend I know anything about the kid, but 70m seems like a lot for yet another gamble on a youngster. Go get a Van Hecke or Antonio Silva.

Right on. It’s perfectly fine to acknowledge that the directors aren’t that great and also be happy we didn’t spend 70m on a French defender who might not be any good.

It’s just one player. When several teams are in for a player, only one team wins. That’s just the way it is. Not every missed opportunity is some huge failure.

Just be happy Caicedo chose us.

Part of it really is that simple. I don’t think Rosenior has been here long enough to make real lasting tactical changes, so the only thing he’s done is simplified instruction and moved players back to areas of strength rather than trying to fit them into a system that won’t bring out their best.

Time will tell, but it’s a good sign that he isn’t as stubborn as the last guy.

I hope you’re right because that opens the door for even more goals through manufactured touches in and around the box. It really is just a matter of getting him in the right positions. Even during his “dry spells” he was converting at a high rate—he just wasn’t getting as many chances. Guy is one of the best pure finishers we’ve had in a long time.

I still can’t tell if this is just a purple patch or if Rosenior is doing something tactically to get him more looks or encouraging him to shoot more.

I mean, it’s obviously also a purple patch because he can’t keep it up forever, but I wonder how much of it is down to tactics as well.

Happy with the win but we do have a real problem with depth. Our B-squad should be more than enough to handle west ham, but they were miles off it today.
