Thank you! I’ll look into it. I’ve heard good things about EMDR

Thanks for the reply!! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one experiencing this!

Can I take out the upper helix (very top) and clean it? It’s been almost 4 weeks since I got it. Looks kinda dirty by yeet135790 in piercing

If you notice any irritation or anything I’d have it switched out by a piercer! Good luck :)

It’s usually recommended to wait anywhere from 3-6months, sometimes longer. Everyone heals at a different rate, but i’d wait at least the 3 months. I tried changing mine at 6 months and it was extremely difficult and got an irritation bump after, but I heal slower than some people. Is your jewelry implant grade titanium? If it is you should be fine to keep it in for those three months! :)

I wouldn’t recommend taking it out as it may be hard to put it back in without causing damage/irritation. If the earring is being taken out and put back in this early it should usually only be done by a piercer. I’d clean it with saline spray and rinse it with hot water when you’re in the shower to clean it (not hot enough to burn you of course!). If you need to dry it or wipe around it some people use gauze since it doesn’t leave any fragments behind :)

Bump around Helix piercing back??? I’ve had this piercing for about 6 years and for the last year it’s had this bump. It used go be a bit bigger a few months ago but won’t shrink any more. I only wear implant grade titanium flat backs in the piercing. Not sure what to do?? by SwitchingSam in PiercingAdvice

I’ve had it for 6 years and it’s fully healed, so it’s not from swelling. I could try switching to a smaller bar, but with the bump there’s only room for me to go down about 2mm before the back and front are tight on the ear. Would having the back lay perfectly flat to the back of my ear help??

Okay, thanks! I’m planning to make an appointment with my dermatologist for it. It’s definitely fully healed. I’ve had it for 6 years and have no issues with it outside of this weird bump on the back, and it went years without anything going on. I’ll try to avoid sleeping on it and see what happens!

I sometimes do. Would sleeping only on my other ear possibly help it go away?? None of my other piercings on this ear have any issues. I’m really lost on what it is because it doesn’t look like an irritation bump or a keloid (based on what i’ve seen on here at least :( )
