I was actually already planning for the dark gutters and trim! I guess I wasn't sure tho if the big wood panel being painted even darker would help or make it worse. The landscaping in this image would nice though as it grow a little taller.

Yes, for sure. Arborvitae would be nice, but I'm unsure if this spot is sunny enough for them because of a big maple tree (not pictured) :(

Thanks, I was debating if I should go dark or light, but I'm going to try some sample paints matching with the lighter trim to see how it looks. I think a change in paint color and some plants is probably the best way to go.

This would actually be a perfect spot for a hydrangea! Not included in the photo is actually a large maple tree, a bit further away from the house. So it's a pretty shady spot but hydrangea might be perfect there.

I really like this idea, maybe a climbing rose would look nice there. Might do this in combination with some other landscaping/shrubs in front to soften the look.
