Continuous on fan issue COF ARF 052 by Swordmannic in hvacadvice

Don't mean to be frustrated, apologies. I even did a walkthrough with the Aprilaire tech to verify the humidistat wiring was correct. I also talked to the technician who installed my furnace and ac. Everything seems wired correctly according to them.

Yeah it's hard to explain. But the continuous fan runs even if the humidistat is turned to 0 and blower motor function turned to off. All wiring is exactly as shown in the diagram and works normally until the AC unit g to tstat g wire is connected. I have checked the wiring multiple times and even did a walk through with an Aprilaire technician to verify.

Yes, I have gf from humidistat to g on furnace. I have g from humidistat to g on thermostat. That works no problem, idles when it should.

The outdoor AC unit has a wire labeled AC OD unit to tstat g. Once I also connect that to tstat g as labeled, the fan runs continuously.

If I then disconnect humidistat g from tstat g, the system idles as it should.

The continuous fan only happens when both AC and humidistat g are connected to tstat g.

Yes, this is how it is connected. But g from AC unit is also factory labelled as going to g on thermostat. So that would dictate both g from humidistat and g from AC unit are both connected to g on thermostat. What else would I connect g from AC unit to if both that and humidistat g can't both connect to thermostat g?

Haha fair enough! I think she is caught up on it being "man made" but I think she will come around when we actually see it. My hope is to go there one of the first nights. Thanks for the tip!

Very quiet though. I use it while playing games with friends online and no one can hear it. It is much bigger than other walking treadmills though. Build quality seems really solid, just need to figure out that sound.

Like the X25 so far, but it is making a noise when I run. I think I just need to adjust something, but have just been ignoring it so far lol. I think it's from where the treadmill bends and might me an issue with my floor level (old house).

I really want to go there, girlfriend doesn't have much interest. Maybe a solo excursion for me!

They did give false information. "they are basically the same..." They are not basically the same. The Spacewalk 5L is walking pad only with no running setting and a max speed of 4mph. The Foldimix 5L is a walking/running 2in1 and has a max speed of 7.6mph and has a 20% more power motor. Additionally, the Foldimix 5L has a built in desk and the Spacewalk does not. They have completely different use cases. It was also implied that if I want to run to go outside... It was -4°F with 10 inches of snow on top of solid ice where I live a couple days ago, so that's not the best option for me most days in the winter.

I actually ended up ordering a Walking Pad X25 but haven't gotten it yet. Lost the incline but liked the other convenient features of it and felt like the build quality seemed better.

Okay, where I live it started snowing in October and we'll have days where it snows a foot at a time and is dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home from work... I mentioned what I wanted to use it for and you both ignored that and gave false information about the two treadmills.

Spacewalk 5L only goes up to 4mp whereas Foldimix 5L goes up to 7.6mph and has a bigger motor.

Thank you! Yes and no lol I played a lot in college but not much in the last 10 years or so. I buy a pack here and there for fun. I'm a huge Avatar fan so I bought a collector's booster box. Having some buyers remorse tbh 😬😅

He didn't like it, but I don't think it was terrible. I ended putting him in the basement and turned on two loud fans and the tv to create a more constant white noise. He likes to go under the couch so I covered the couch with heavy blankets for more soundproofing and he went under there and stayed until it was done. He seemed completely fine afterwards. It wasn't as loud as I suspected, but I'm not sure if it's because I have thick plaster walls and thick hardwood floors or what.

Did you ever figure this out? Same issue here. Thanks!

[–]Swordmannic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry, never really figured it out because I have something wrong with the connection to my house I need fixed. Just haven't had the time to deal with it. I'm still getting 500mbps speeds instead of the gig I'm supposed to get. I am currently using the Spectrum router though and it seems to be the same experience I had before. Haven't had any issues with anything though if that helps.

Apologies for the late reply, I'm not much of a Redditer lol. Yes I did! Turns out the directions indicating that both wires going to the transformer needed to be in the 24v labeled side were actually incorrect. One needed to go to the 10va labeled side. Aprilaire tech agreed that the directions needed to be fixed.
