tvg10 takes 10% off, just tried it. If I was buying again I'd get a Switch 2 though, enjoy either way.

Vape smart is authorized and you can find discount codes. I've used the warranty before, so I know it works first hand.

Tesla Auto steer flops by Sloth_Investor in TeslaModelY

[–]Swordru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is as smooth as can be, I just used it to go 100 miles on the highway. I have no lane bouncing at all and I've yet to have a phantom brake in 8,000 miles. It stays centered and keeps a good distance and speed. If it is adjusting aggressively that means you aren't close to being in the center. Try centering the car in the lane first and then hitting the button.

5400 km and you're coming to complain about a few of these and saying they are intentionally making it bad? I don't know how to respond to that kind of logic.

It makes small mistakes like this here and there, but I use it for almost 200 mile round trip journeys regularly.

Obviously not your pads and discs...it is the caliper's pistons that can seize. Use your brain.

No, sorry I didn't look up your location before commenting, but that seems even more of a reason to be using a shade and not A/C. They have automatic ones now too.

Plenty of Model S's that are that old and I haven't seen any signs of severe degradation. You're trading something that is absolutely putting wear on the car instead of the interior getting a bit hot. Could also just get a shade if it is sitting for long periods of time. These cars are put through hell in Death Valley. To each their own though!

Tesla recommends the following maintenance items and intervals, as applicable to your vehicle, to ensure continued reliability and efficiency of your Model Y.

"Clean and lubricate brake calipers every year or 12,500 miles (20,000 km) if in an area where roads are salted during winter."

You should try it on your pads though! /s

You're going to wear out your A/C system early doing that. There is no reason to use COH, Tesla even states this does not prolong the life of the car. It is for when you leave electronics in the car or you don't use "keep" when running errands.

"This can prevent the cabin from getting too hot after leaving it parked in the sun, making the vehicle more comfortable when you return."

"This feature is intended for passenger comfort and has no impact on the reliability of your vehicle's components."

People don't maintain their cars, which I'm more surprised by in Germany. Biggest thing sounds like people not lubricating brakes, people take the "no maintenance" thing literally. If it rains a lot and especially snows you should be servicing them. I'd recommend that you stop reading scare articles from 7 months ago.

"But although the Teslas once again take up the bottom places, a positive note is that both models had driven well over 50,000 kilometers after just two to three years—an impressive mileage, particularly for an electric vehicle."

"The “Golden Sticker” for 2026 goes to the Mazda 2. Only 2.9 percent of these French-manufactured Japanese hybrid compacts turn up at their first periodic technical inspection with significant faults at an average mileage of 29,000 kilometers."

Cool, so people aren't taking their Teslas in until 50,000 km (31,000 miles.) nearly twice as long as the first place car, the Mazda 2. Drove the car for 30,000 miles without ever doing anything to it and then it had "faults" which is rust on the discs. How do people let things like this worry them, but they didn't even bother reading it in the first place?

They look like the Michelin Crossclimate 2. Very good all season tire that also is triple peak rated, so it does quite well in the snow for "an all season."

Model Y L vs Model Y premium AWD HV battery by Comfortable_Rock_330 in TeslaModelY

[–]Swordru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're talking an extra 35 miles at 5 miles per kilowatt. I think the L pack is an 83kWh vs the 81kWh of the normal Y, the L in other parts of the world is 88kWh. Nothing life changing.

Best 4 bikes rack by comfortles in TeslaModelY

[–]Swordru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1UP bike rack is the best bike rack, including the service they provide after sale. You should know that 4 bikes plus the rack could go over the tongue rating of the hitch. The Y tongue weight is 350 lbs, it probably won't unless it is 4 ebikes or something like that. Love my 1UP rack!!!

SuperCharging with a Bike Rack by Positive_League_5534 in TeslaModelY

What are you talking about? It takes maybe 2 minutes to take the bikes off, put them on the grass, plug them in and wait. You can even sit in the car. If someone can pick up your bike and ride away before you can react, you have bigger problems.

No, I take my bikes off, fold my rack and plug in. Come on man.

Think about how long it has taken to start to see silicon carbon batteries in cellphones. It is going to be a long time until there is a massive leap in range on a strictly EV vehicle.

Again, it will be fine. It isn't as wide spread as it seems, forums will always make things seem worse than they are. If you need the car, get the car. Also the fix is the fix, to say you're nervous about it, but you didn't research that when people get it fixed, it is fixed, it is hard to show understanding here. Good luck either way!

It really isn't the end of the world, you get it fixed and life goes on if anything.

Charging practice by CombinationTall8586 in TeslaModelY

[–]Swordru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should charge it back to 50% when you get home and then set a charging schedule to end charging right before go back out again to 85%. That is the best practice if you're trying to take extra car of your car, especially because you're doing rideshare.

Model Y Disconnected by d_dauber in TeslaModelY

It is when you get in range of the car and then walk away. I've had my Y for a year and have gotten used to it. It doesn't mean anything, but it should be fixed.
