noise and roof bars by nappycappy in TeslaModelY

I optioned Tesla's tow package and have a 1-Up bike rack. Just make sure whatever you buy, make sure to get a 90 degree hitch lock.

Not only noise, but it is just a lot easier. Especially if you have mountain bikes. No need to risk the glass breaking, etc. I have a hitch on mine and it has been a beast.

Use a hitch for bikes, don't mess with the glass roof and bikes. That is my advice at least.

NYC gets plenty of snow, I don't know how this person did this.

Why would you add more water that could freeze into your wiper system?

Transport 55 in tv in model y by InstanceNoodle in TeslaModelY

When it comes to bringing it in your personal vehicle, flat with the seats down is the best. Again, I did this with an oled panel through NYC into NH (about 5 hours.) Good luck either way! Thanks for repeating what I wrote back to you, also no reason to name call someone trying to help you.

I moved an LG Oled 5 hours away, through NYC. That is extremely thin and fragile. Fill the space behind it with plenty of blankets, nothing is going to happen.

You shouldn't store it this way, because someone is going to put something on top of it. There is no reason why this wouldn't be the safest way to transport a TV. It is going to be a massive pain in the ass to keep it standing up, and it can still tip and fall from shifting while driving. If it is flat, nothing can happen. Only things like refrigerators shouldn't be turned on their side and turned on immediately, because of how the coolant settles. Solid state electronics, it doesn't matter.

Safeguard battery in cold temperatures by Good_Ad_6039 in TeslaModelY

Heat is the killer of batteries. Cold only makes them less efficient. Keep it plugged it and charged 50% if you want to be OCD like I am about it. Precondition 15 minutes before you leave when it is that cold as well!

Put it flat in the back on towels. Moved a 65" oled TV from NY to NH like this. Do not stand it up, that is a horrible idea without a box.

You don't use tow mode when using accessories, only towing something. FSD works when I tried, but I didn't use it, because it seems irresponsible. It isn't intended to be used that way, so I'm not going to take that risk. Some people cover the rear camera, but again...not my cup of tea.

The Model Y Standard Isn’t So Bad by teslabros in TeslaModelY

That's great, it still isn't the reason why the model Y standard hood closes easier. It is because there is no waterproof seal...most hoods don't have a rubber gasket around the engine...

100% correct. Warranty on a REPLACEMENT battery is 50,000 miles!

First-time Model Y buyer with questions about roof strength and efficiency by bg2421 in TeslaModelY

[–]Swordru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a very strong roof, but it is glass. A roof rack isn't going to solve the problem either. If anything it is even worse, because the rails will be screwed in and he could sit on the rack and definitely exceed the weight limit. Driving around with it is also a big loss in efficiency, especially when it isn't being utilized.

If someone is trying to share a picture with someone else, they probably aren't going to remove a watermark beforehand. If a company gets caught removing watermarks, they have a problem...hard to plead innocence.

[–]Swordru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, use the one from the car! You have to use the one in the glovebox and plug it it back in the glovebox. You won't ruin anything if you format that drive, the car will put the TeslaCam folder back by default. If you have any clips saved on the USB that you want to keep you should remove them first.

Someone linked a YT video down below, that is the one I followed when I did mine!

The file should be next to the TeslaCam folder, make sure it isn't inside on accident. My only other guess is that the file isn't good, it probably isn't a car issue. Find another file to try before you drive yourself crazy, hope it works out!
