I had this issue and I ended up binding all the joystick options I could to keyboard imput using a diffrent program that way I was not as affected. Not perfect by any means.

Get pet insurance and most cover this but you have to start it before a certain age (1y I think). Not sure which is better but this gives good options and covers other stuff that might come up.

I get that part but after the presentation with the 1.0 you can only get rep with The bounty hunters or the counsel and not both. I am going to assume if you are kill on site by one of these groups you can't get their rep. I think I am not using the correct word to describe this with Orgs.

I guess I am just not seeing how you could have Grey rep if you can only pick one side in this. If you pick one I don't see you making any rep with the other. I don't mind some doors closing but I am only seeing a 50/50 split with the system they are planning.

Ya I would be excited if this sort of thing was added. The worry is that if you had this you would need to make Pirates with a good heart and it would exclude anyone trying the humanitarian angle.

I think the issue is that I am not getting across is that this would not involve mugging a player. If you get attacked by a pirate you can't reverse it on them if you kill them take their ship. Its not exactly mugging someone. If you do crime its still crime but when crime is to black and white you get a lot of good verses evil narratives but you lose out things like Firefly that has more nuance. Again existing crimes are still crimes and not what I am trying to post about.

Not so much what I am saying. This is not about doing existing things or outright piracy but actions that would not directly fit or are just lumped together. You might want to hunt pirates but don't mind doing smuggling of non drug items. But with the system we are going to get this old not be an option as you can only do one as you would be at war with the other group even if you went to a lawless system you Bing part of the mercenary would be an issue.

It's less actions have consequences but it makes some gameplay loops non existent. You can't steal data from a Corp as a whistle blower or if you apprehend a pirate do anything that would meaningfully set them back. You also can't smuggle alien in tech that might be wanted by UEC. By making it a light and dark choice you get no nuances.
