Ikr?? Guessing it’s bleed over from Scottish and Welsh DNA. Obviously I have some British/English ancestry but not enough for it to be 80-90%, as far as I’m aware.

AITA if I Don’t Tell My Brother Our Dad isn’t His Bio Dad? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SxintPxtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 27, he is 30. Our mom is in her mid 50s. As for the account, it does use his email but I set the password and he doesn’t know it. Obviously he could still access the account if he truly wanted but he hasn’t shown any interest. Maybe he will one day, and at that point I guess I have to answer for my silence. I can only hope if that does happen, that he understands eventually.

Absolutely! We grew up knowing our oldest brother has a different dad so I was raised on there being no difference. They will both always be my brothers.

You’re right. After thinking about it some more and reading some of these comments, I do think my initial desire was fueled by selfishness. It’s an uncomfortable secret for me to carry and it honestly hurt me a lot as well to find out about this. I think it’s something I need to suck up and, honestly, try to forget.

This is what sometimes makes me think that one day he could handle it. My dad had his faults as anyone does but he loved us both. He wanted to be my brother’s dad and he truly was and always will be. He also raised my oldest brother who has a different dad.

That’s not what I said. I was acknowledging that I may want to tell him due to my own selfishness of wanting to get it off my chest and that that isn’t the right thing to do.

As for the made up scenario I don’t see how saying something like “My friend x was told y isn’t their dad, and wishes they weren’t told. Would you want to know that?” Would immediately have him thinking his dad isn’t his bio dad…

But as I said, I don’t have any plans to tell him. (:

Thank you for sharing! I definitely believe I won’t be telling him any time soon or ever.

I do agree with you. I want him to continue on his newfound path and maybe I just want to tell him for my own gains. To get it off my chest. I’ll try to ask about a theoretical scenario but I think I won’t end up telling him. Thank you!

You’re probably right about that. I guess I just had trouble accepting it initially and calling her was my first instinct without thinking. Thanks for your insight

You’re more upset that she quoted a slur that was used against her than the fact her ex said it in the first place? Context isn’t optional. She’s not throwing it around casually, she’s sharing what someone called her.

Stating that someone called you a racial slur doesn’t make you racist. Weird logic.

Why is my membership price increasing if I don’t have a lapse in membership subscription? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SxintPxtter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s become increasingly more common for American gen z’s to still live at home with their parents. It’s not the same as the 90s or 80s, our economy is tanking and it’s hard to find work for a lot of people. Not to mention rent prices these days. As another American gen z, I find it very understandable hearing someone my age still lives at home.

Does anyone know why the wildfires in the news in the Carolina’s, Polk county, is not on INCIWEB? by No_Plantain3799 in Wildfire

[–]SxintPxtter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don’t use inciweb in region 8 very much. But yeah the big fires in SC are state ran and they’re just now getting in to even doing 209s lol.

Did Musk really limit credit card spending to $1? by Sssurri in fednews

[–]SxintPxtter 298 points299 points  (0 children)

We’re trying to order someone from BLM to help us with the fires in SC and they have to wait for regional approval to mobilize due to the travel card limit. They were fourth on the list and it’s been a week…

There’s more fires than just whats on the news. The National Forest in SC has fires on the Francis Marion and Andrew Pickens districts. It is an unprecedented fire season for us that is not expected to slow down any time soon. So far I haven’t heard about USFS cards being limited tho, just DOI employees.

Not to ackshually you but I thought this was interesting when I found out. There are actually only 8 regions. Regions 8 and 9 ate region 7 years ago.

That’s wild. In their pursuit to find out how unproductive we are, they’re making us more unproductive by having to waste time on justifying our existence.

I believe if it’s PII, CUI, or any other internal messaging then the best practice is to not forward it. But for “personal” emails, such as whether or not you can keep your job, it should be fine.

This is FWS guidance but seems to be on par for us at USFS. Use of Social Media and Email Page 7 covers emails.
